It's unheard of for someone from Oshkosh to reach this level of notoriety. Tyrese has done us proud, the kid is going to go far. Even though he beat my Bucks in the semi of the IST, I wouldn't want anyone else to.

He set the school record for assists in like his 7th game as a freshman which is crazy because Jamaal Tinsley won the Big 12 twice straight and Big 12 POTY as a playground wizard passing himself.

Lamelo is good, but the Hornets are not. They are currently 13th in the east. The Pacers are currently 5th. The East has good guards. The Celtics have Jrue, and the Bucks have Dame. The 76ers have Maxey, who is young, so I could see him battling Haliburton for years to come.
@OmahaRiverDonkey7 ай бұрын
Tyrese is efficiency epitomized. His +/- ratio per 100 possessions has been positive every year he's been in the league and it gets better every year, currently +19. Lamelo's same +/- has been negative every year he's been in the league and he's regressed to a current -9. Winning teams don't have rivalries with losing teams.

He's a tier below superstar. Superstars must at least have a Championship or a memorable deep playoff run. Right now, Luka/Giannis/LeBron/KD/Steph/Tatum are in that echelon. Haliburton is for sure a franchise cornerstone, nonetheless. His time may come, but I'm not necessarily expecting it. In theory, I'd think of him as a high end complimentary player on a Championship caliber team, not the engine (Number One option) on a Championship caliber team.

@@psmith669 They're a star caliber player away from being a perennial Finals contender. I think that star player, whether they already have that player on their roster or not, will have to be better than Haliburton to win a Championship. Hard to win in this league w/ your PG as your best player. Stephen Curry, Isiah Thomas were the anomalies. & Even Steph could be taken out of that conversation because he's more of a Combo Guard than he is a PG.
