LYRICS:
Hey kid let me introduce myself
I’s a friend of your dad’s when he had no one else
I’ll put the party in your life boy you know I can
Have you ever wanted to feel like superman
Oh, Oh
I see that blonde hair over there looking at you
You wanna say what’s up but can’t work up the courage to
But if you stick with me buddy you can bet your life
She’ll be walking out with you by the end of the night so
Don’t listen to momma
Hell I ain’t the devil
Ditch me when you wanna
But if you need a little
I can fix your problems
Always got your back
I can make you famous
By the way my name is….
Shit
It ain't my place but I gotta admit
All the people in your circle man they’re pissing me off
Say you’re broken and you’re soulless and it’s all my fault
So tell me old friend, is it such a sin
All I did was make you happy so to hell with them and
Don’t listen to momma
Hell I ain’t the devil
Ditch me when you wanna
But if you need a little
I can fix your problems
Always got your back
I can make you famous
By the way my name is….
Yeah
Yeah yeah it’s been a hell of a ride kid don’t you agree
Yeah yeah rock bottom ain’t as bad when you’re rocking with me
When you’re rocking with me
So
Don’t listen to momma
Hell I ain’t the devil
Ditch me when you wanna
But if you need a little
I can fix your problems
Always got your back
I can make you famous
By the way my name is….
By the way my name is….
By the way my name is Jack

It's about Jack to whomever said heroin. He's tlaking about starting to drink early and then over time it gets a hold of him and life starts spinning out of control and he's addicted and it all goes by quickly it's why it goes crazy and ends with you wanting more. Just like alcohol. It's a story and leaves you wanting more from the song. Again just like being an alcoholic.

@todddillon613 27. Had friends and family deal with alcohol addiction and 4 years ago right before I had my son I almost went down the same hole. Luckily realized and controlled myself before it took control of me. I can now drink and still get a drunk but know how to regulate and catch myself if I ever do start to depend on it again. You?

Truly genius level writing, to tell a story that’s relatable and keeps you hooked till the last word of the song where the “mystery” is solved. Not to mention the song absolutely kicks ass! Very seldom do songs come out like this, today or ever.

because its set to the tone/cadence of a country song from back then. You can feel it in some of his other songs too, I love how he does it. Can we all take a moment to acknowledge the brilliant directing? When Jack is introducing himself, he’s playing a very alluring tune, but he’s also moving on the edges of the light. When he grabs the camera, he’s in the viewer’s face, but he’s also intentionally isolating them from the others around him (literally his bandmates, but metaphorically the friends and loved ones in the song.) And then, of course, everything is destroyed as the rain pours down, and the flashing lights resemble that of sirens, and Jack walks away, leaving the consequences of that annihilating outburst to the kid who listened to him. Absolutely breathtaking!

As an alcoholic stuck in between "living sober" and "fuck it", I love this song. Alcohol is a hell of a drug. It can give you the best night of your life or the worst night of your life. But either way, it'll be there in the morning to soothe the emotional pain and send you right back into that same kind of blackout you regretted an hour ago. "Rock bottom ain't as bad when you're rockin' with me"

I remember hearing hit songs for the first time during the 80’s/90’s and just knowing the song would be around forever. I swear I haven’t had that feeling in more than 20 years since the current pop sound just doesn’t make any sense. I heard “Jack” for the first time yesterday on an XM rock station. The first verse blew me away and I had to stop the car to listen to the rest. Now I’m not a fan of country, and I never heard of Hardy before, but this guy is here in the rock/country crossover genre to stay, and I hope to hear a lot more of him from here on in.

For those who don’t know the drummer in this video, Harry Miree is a modern day dude who has devoted his life to rocking his life away behind the kit everyday he can. He doesn’t get caught up in lucrative sponsorships which is also why he’s broke. He wears the same blue jeans, black shirt, and black converse everyday like he has the past 8 years of his life. He’s very expressive, talented and only cares about rocking out and making the best music he can. Hell yeah Harry.

Yall know how shocked I was when after hearing this song and sold out, I find out he's actually a country artist? I was confused as hell seeing a lot of people I know going to his concerts and knowing damn well that's not the type music they listen to lol Keep up the bangers, especially the rock ones🔥

@@Amber-jz7fh definitely check out his album 'Creeker 2' it's that southern rock sound plus country. He's mostly a country rap artist, but he's a fantastic writer and skilled lyricist. He's also an independent artist- not tainted by Hollywood and the 'mainstream'. Some of his good rap songs are: don't want to go home, parachute, no one, rear view. Check out 'trade getting drunk' and 'dusty side of music city'

If hardy dropped a nu metal or just metal album he’d break their charts alone. Country aside. Dirt on my boots was harder than a lot of the songs that came out that year in their genre. Hardy has it in him and clearly loves that music. Dude could literally be award winning in a few genres.

Alright, after hearing "Wait in the Truck" I thought it was a pretty good and unique country song. Then I heard "Radio Song" and I realized that Hardy wasn't trying to fit into pop country. Then I heard "Jack" and I went "Okay. This, guy is doing something really different here. He's blurring all the genre lines" and I'm stoked to be here for it. I'm a fan Hardy.

There really are two phases to listening to this song. First, you listen to it blindly thinking of that uncle figure guiding a young boy, then you have the realization that Jack is just alcohol. I will never be able to hear this song the same way and that is in a way beautiful.

This song is all about how addiction took me in. In rehab one time the counselor had us write a love letter to break up with our DOC. After we read them we were asked to write what our DOC would reply... One guy wrote for a couple minutes and stopped. His addiction said - f*%# you I will find someone else. We fell in love with something that hates us. I will never forget that. This song reminded me of that. F you Jack.

I generally prefer older country. I can’t say im a fan of the whole ‘lifted pickup, drinkin beer’ brand of country music that Nashville is pumping out. There’s a sense of self- awareness with hardy that a lot of the more mainstream country and southern rock artists don’t seem to have. He’s actually got something to say and that’s refreshing.
