I read an interview and Hardy said his favorite band was Pink Floyd. Especially the Wall album. His father played Pink Floyd all the time which influenced Hardys musical taste. To give yourself a giggle, watch his video of his song Rednecker. I laughed so hard because the stuff they were doing, I did most of it too even though I'm a girl. Rural country folks like Hardy and I have to think up stuff to do, so it brought back memories. He's from Mississippi and I. From Alabama. So I get it. I'm so glad you like Hardy! He is not independent, he is still on a major label. I think he has gained enough leeway to make this song. Many other bands have been able to make songs like this too.

He stated in an interview that the “Do That, Do This” line was not about the industry but about the internal fear so to speak to transition more into rock. He compared it to the Mockingbird talking to The Crow. There’s an awesome interview with him from Rockfeed where he’s talking about how he grew up a rock kid and he kinda trolls himself a little saying “he knows he’s part of the problem and he writes douchy country songs”. He was a writer before he did this and wrote for the likes of Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean and more. He has a really fucking awesome story that’s worth diving into. Fun fact - Radio Song by Hardy that features Jeremy McKinnon from A Day To Remember was actually written with Jeremy and with Cody from Wage War!

Just found your channel and subbed. This song has several different meanings, most country sounds basically the same. Hence the mocking bird reference. Hardy has been in the business for a while, mainly as a writer, he has 11 number 1’s to his credit. The crow, yeah I’m doing some of my own songs my. Lol. Baily Zimmerman a rock and a hard place is really good very country though but was signed by mercury Nashville a month and a week after he put his first song on tic toc! He's actually signed to two record labels. He has a songwriter deal with BMI, where he just won there songwriter of the year award a week or so ago. For his music, he is signed with Big Loud records. I have seen Hardy twice. Absolute party.
