I grew up in Hare Krishna community in Nepal , right now I m in USA . When I compared my life now and then of course I love my childhood which was my best , no worries , no negative energy , all full of happiness now I have money but stressful life , I hate this life . Western people never understand how happiness lies within us

As an alternative example, I live in a Hare Krishna community (in British Columbia, Canada) that is not managed as a commune. We all own our individual land (about 5 acres), have more independence and take major decisions democratically (which usually has to do with infrastructural maintenance and improvement). There are a set of loose rules by which we all agree to abide by. But, that's just how intentional communities function. Though, ours have a Hare Krishna flavor to it. :D

I'm not sure if you are fully aware of what he is saying here. He has obviously been told to moderate how he is talking (when Kate subtitles it as [muttering] ) but he starts to explain WHY his chickens are safe now. He is talking about the village used to contain single houses with many families in one and the crime rate would be much higher (stolen chickens) but because of the Hare Krishna people the houses are too expensive for that particular Hungarian ethnic group to remain in the village. He even starts to pronounce the word at 11:31 but stops himself. They even ask Kate and her friend in Hungarian if they understand what they are insinuating, but Kate either didn't understand this nuance of the language or decided not to subtitle it.

Converting? There's no ritual in Hinduism prescribed to convert people of other religions to Hinduism. If a Christian wants to become a Hindu then he doesn't need to give up going to church or praying to jesus, all he has to do is to give up the idea that Christianity is the only "true" religion and their God is the "true" God, such thinking gives rise to intolerance.

@@asemark2678 Dude, thinking that 2+2=4 is the way of abrahamic religions. Don't Christians tag anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus as heathens? Doesn't Bible condemn anyone who doesn't follow Christianity to hell? 10+10 is not 20 but equal to 100 if the person is using the binary system. So, just because the other person's answer/views doesn't align with your views it doesn't mean he's wrong. Don't be a narrow minded human and don't reject anyone who doesn't think like you. In Hinduism it's believed that every person has the right to choose their own God, to choose their own faith, the only rule is to not harm the nature. And I don't think you understand the concept of karma at all.

Hare krishna movement is a profound science n universal philosophy of hard n soft spiritual mystics and provides ways to attain self realisation through yoga and meditation and..singing..dancing..chanting mantras in the Lord's name..thus brings health and happiness and wellness..peace..joy...it is a simple..flexible and liberal and..democratic way of living in sustainability....it calls respect for rights of people..animals and nature...n on non violence...to all through words..thought..and actions...

As told in last ..things are not that hard.. because after chanting starts.. soul automatically leaves these lower taste things like caffeine, nonveg, sex etc. Its like after medicine you recover your soul and find truth and real taste of life Which is to Serve Lord Krishna the supreme personality of godhead.🙏😇😇😇

Just ask this questions what inspires them to live that live away from sensations , emotions to colourless world . Strict veg,folowing strict life . Well I know all this no way closer to this great human. Take Respect divine soul. It's not easy to control senses . Why I call them divine ? You don't choose Krishna but he Chooses you . So being born in India yes you could folow Krishna not a big deal . But,someone in communist ,heavily materlist or Christian country. This world badly needs Hare Krishna Movement in every part of the world not because to spread a religion but to make the world realize that the most important aspect of the life of a human being is nonviolence, unconditional love and compassion. Just see these African, middle-east and Asian countries where unrelenting violence, hatred and human rights violations (particularly on women & children) are going on for decades and decades. The last 1200 years have been the darkest period for humanity. And no prizes for guessing why.

kate, a fascinating and revealing film. particularly in light of all the news lately about hungary's far right politics and nativist policies. thanks for sharing. a couple of points: individuals who join the hare krishna faith do have choices: they choose the faith, and then they have the option to leave the faith, without consequences, i presume. and re: your point about children not having the choice, that remains true in all cases, across the world, across time. for example, millions of children born in america's bible belt into families practicing evangelical christianity may be raised to be homophobic, or worse, anti science and anti reason. :)

To generate income, it has start hotel and catering services, also conduct vacations with resort type of accommodation, there are many rich Hindu businessmen who can put some big amount, whatever interest it generates can be donated to these type of people

Apart from Raising Real estate prices near the sleepy village and chickens of neighbor's returning safely home bcoz all are vegetarians these are the 2 complaints. But again Hungarian people are good hearted.Met some tourists in India.one was a yoga teacher. May Krishna bless all. Best wishes Arun
