Gummy bears and other fruit gum candies time lapse in a humid environment.
It took a long time for the gummy bears to get moldy, but eventually they all got covered with it, and also tens of thousands of mites found their way onto the sweet treat.
3 month long Haribo time lapse experiment

I don't know how those broke down we had a display tube of them at work that looked mostly brand new 8 years later. They had a little cloudiness about them but nothing like this soup. When we took down the displays I tried one and it shattered in my mouth, but overall was still "edible" as it kinda rehydrated in mouth. The peanut m&ms were bad tho.. that peanut inside had gone bad. Gave me a stomach ache. Also I eat weird stuff.

@Michaela Lenzhofer even then they just dry up...it really must be the humidity and additional the temperature, cuz I even had some that were years old and they always dry up. The only difference is if I leave them open in a bowl they dry up and collect dust, but if it’s covered up with a lid then they just dry up...the only way to keep them fresh is to seal them airtight...I never had such a soup in any of my sweet bowls and I always have bowls with any kind of sweets in them, so if I crave something from it i can eat it at once and I don’t need to wait to buy it and have the craving increased..that way I eat less sweets....gummybears hold forever in there, Even the ones with white parts

I kept them in a plastic box with also the camera inside. I also pured some water under the plate so it was able to evaporate and make the air very humid. The heat of the camera heated up the inside of the box to about 28°C/82°F. Unless your place has near 100% humidity I think your gummy bears are fine :)
