I found that the truss rod tool did not quite fit well, I had to wiggle and force it into the spoke wheel. I too was confused about the saddles, whoever thought that method was a good design choice was IMO deluded, the whole point is that you can make micro adjustments and having to manually move the saddles back is not a micro adjustment, I found I had to use the screws to move the saddles forward after manually moving them back, no matter how careful I was I moved them back far too much. I had to dampen the trem springs as they were vibrating horribly. The action on mine was far too low and was hitting the frets on a couple of strings, only slightly though and only noticeable when playing without it plugged in, I like a low action but this guitar was as low as possible. The fretboard was completely flat with no relief at all and so I put I little bit of relief in it. The flaming on my neck was outrageous, in fact it was so well flamed it roasted itself I had to make some EQ adjustments as the pickups are too warm IMO. Overall I really like this guitar, the only thing I don't like is the fretboard width at the top, I like a wider fretboard as my hands are like shovels and I have sausage fingers, however, it is not so bad that I mute the strings next to one I am fretting which has happened with some guitars I have auditioned in shops in the past.

The HB Fusion guitars deliver great quality and borderline unbelievable specs for the money. You have a very nice guitar there. I have the Fusion III 25th Anniversary model, and I intend to get a Fusion T when Christmas is out of the way. With all respect, mate, the only problem with that Wilkinson bridge is your unfamiliarity with it. For its price it is a very good trem. I've fitted the WVS50IIK to guitars of my own and for a number of other people who've asked for help improving the tuning stability of their trems, and never had a problem with it. It's not an expensive unit but it is effective and good quality. It even has a decent sized steel block. The locking screws on the saddles aren't there to compensate for the absence of springs on the intonation adjustment screws; they are primarily to stop the saddles from shifting when one pushes the trem bar down and releases string tension from the saddles. That shifting of the saddles is one of the reasons Strat trems have such a poor reputation for tuning stability. Functionally, the saddle locking screws are the only significant difference between the WVS50IIK and any other 2-point, Strat-type trem. I'm sure your tech can explain how to set it all up properly. It is not rocket science. Trevor Wilkinson generally comes up with good value products that do their job competently. This tremolo unit is no exception.

Very nice review. May I suggest to you to place your Tremolo springs in the back in a V-format. Look at how the EVH-Wolfgang Standard and Special's have their springs set up. Eddie Van Halen knew what he was doing on his guitars. Give this a test.

Really enjoyed your honest review of a great guitar. I set mine up with 9-42s, also altered springs and its playes great. I'll probably change the pots and switch as they are cheap but the pups are fine. I got a B Stock for £300 as well so bargain. Still can't see what the flaw is.

Is there a difference between the pickups?
