Amazing work,that's all I want to do when I retire in 8 years,there's nothing better than riding a Harley. I have the 2000 version of this style bike, heritage softtail classic

Thank you! The bike was already on 12V when I bought it. I just have redone the Generator (Cycle Electric 65A) and changed the regulator to a Cycle Electric Low Voltage one.

Yep, sometimes you need to have some luck. Bike is running perfectly fine, but I don't ride it very often. Pretty difficult to swap between foot shift and hand shift bikes... :-) Now I'm looking for a Servi-Car!

Just buy the bible of all Harley restorations: "How to restore your Harley Davidson" written by Bruce Palmer. I strongly recommend the 3rd (newest) edition.

The exhaust pipe protection? Is that a product which can be bought for any brand of motorcycle?

Those are Harley specific heat shields. But they are slip-on types with an inner diameter of 1-3/4” and a length of 12". So in theory you can use them also on other bikes.

@@tetedur377 Good guess for of most the things. Engine Job was about 6k, the engine was in pretty bad shape and I wanted it to be like new and use only OEM parts. I've could that done on my own (I'm an automotive engineer), but for that job, you need many tools I don't have. So it was done by one of the best over here. Speedo was done in Arizona by Vintage Rust, also one of the best for this job. You should also not understimate all the screws and the other tiny parts. I would estimate the total cost to 15k. If you do it, do it right!

@@jens-3949 Yep, small hardware parts can cost a lot... here in Italy 5 bolts 3/8 16 goes for about 25 euros, around 30 US dollars...

@@Maxtowers71 I used all the original bolts and nuts I had, but had them all plated (hot Parkerized of Cadmium plated, which is a challenge in the EU nowadays...), some bolts are made by Colony (very good quality and really matching the OEM stuff)

Enigne is running perfectly fine, but when I made the video some adjustments were still necessary. I'm working on a separate video with engine running and riding scenes...
