Your right on the clutch system. My 81 low rider had. The springs and same pushrod as but 83-84 shovel and 1st year softail had the diaphragm as well. Looking good.

One stop shop ! You make it easy for yourself with jigs and fixtures and the backup of your family engineering knowledge. When you fill the tubes with sand use a vibrating tool, drill, to help the sand pack down between all the fills then wind the screw plate to compact the sand. The less air gaps the better the bend stability. Hope that helps. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
