I didn’t have a clue about how hard it is to find parts for this thing!

Do you change your own oil? If so how many quarts does it take ? I talk to different dealers and they all give me different answer they say 3 quarts or 4 quarts. My service manuals said 2 1/2 quarts. I just dint want to have HD change my fluids i would rather do it myself.

2 1/2 is what goes in mine. Overfill it and it will end up coming through your air breather and wrecking your oil filter

Hey, thanks for the video. A quick question: I have a fair amount of play in whole shifter arm assembly, the shaft also has amount of play. Is it normal for switchback? Can’t find a part to replace shifter and a shift arm with shaft. My “2013 Dynas” manual doesn’t have the part number, just a diagram of what goes where.

A common problem is that the inner linkage can come loose. Check it and tighten it. If it doesn't tighten up. The shaft maybe stripped. Same goes for external linkage by your foot.

@@2ndkickmotoandauto everything is tighten up. By the inner linkage you mean the shaft (that short end you’ve lubricated in a video)? It wiggles inside in all dimensions. Can’t find a part number for it. I’d change the whole assembly, but can’t get a match neither at in aftermarket, nor at Harley site.

By inner shaft, I mean the shaft behind the clutch. It's the bottom side of the lever that the linkage is attached too. Also Harley's do tend to have freeplay more then other manufacturers

@@2ndkickmotoandauto yeah, but that’s some scary amount of play. Thinking to change the whole thing. You think this module was designed specifically for switchback? Won’t regular dyna shifter shaft/arm fit? What would you do? Sorry for so many questions :) it’s my first bike
@2ndkickmotoandauto2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. The switchback shares many parts from many models including dyna and touring models.

It is a problem, ALL the time! I wished it was only a problem “some time “

Mine gear shift linkage is 15” CTC and most of the harleys are only 12 3/4 you think they will work?

Curious about your upper fairing. Who makes it and is it just the outer shell? Don't need a radio or any of that stuff and not sure if I can get one that doesn't need the inner half with speaker cut outs.. Can't see what your bike has but the look is right...

Its a Memphis Shades fairing. #7011 same as road king. See my video about trim and deflectors
