Side by side dB level comparison on a 2016 Dyna Low Rider between stock exhaust and Bassani Road Rage 2 Mega Power.
"I rather be heard than hope to be seen" was said to me by my friend Chris, it made sense, so I used it here.

You’re a legend bro. This video was awesome, very detailed and educational. I just bought a Bassani for my Dyna, switching from a TBR. This video was pretty cool to watch pertaining to what I know about stock and my TBR and being able to compare them all. Solidifies my choice man. Thank you, keep up the good work!

I ran a tbr on my old kawasaki vulcan S. Now have an 07 fxdl with V&H big shots. Just bought a bassani RR 2 mega series for it over the tbr, let me know how you like the bassani over the tbr brother

@@devonm301 I’ve got about 1800 miles on this Bassani so far man and I absolutely love it. I won’t knock TBR, it had its time and purpose but I will say this, it’s not a Bassani. The sound is pretty amazing, I don’t even think I’m going to mess with the baffle.. it already sounds aggressive and nice. The power difference isn’t noticeable to the feel but I had my bike dyno tuned last week since I changed my exhaust and my air cleaner and the numbers showed a little increase. I gained 4hp since the Bassani and the intake which the intake doesn’t really count because I went from a big sucker to an S&S stealth intake, leaves the exhaust as the big difference maker. The dyno guy said the same thing I was thinking, that hp gain was because of the Bassani and tune. Not bad. Cosmetically, it’s prettier.. not going to lie haha but to be fair my Bassani is chrome and not a turn up, my TBR was a stainless turn up with a carbon tip so it looked very raw. All in all, they are worth every penny. This is all my personal opinion though, some guys like TBR more but I’m team Bassani as of now. I too ride an 07 FXDL by the way.

@@d-lowz-no9931 is this pipe obnoxiously loud? I've had my eye on it for a while and am thinking of getting it this summer, however I ride to work at 6am and don't wanna get noise complaints from my neighbours lol, is it too much?
@d-lowz-no9931
@d-lowz-no9931 Жыл бұрын
@@youtubeaccount458 I totally get that! Lol no it’s not obnoxious. At idle it’s not necessarily quiet but it’s not very loud at all. It only gets loud when you give the bike a decent amount of throttle. I live in a HOA type of neighborhood (subdivision) and I haven’t got a complaint yet even with the houses pretty close together. Best way to describe it is it’s only loud when you want it to be. Unless you take the baffle out of course haha but with the baffle in I think it’s perfect.
@d-lowz-no9931
@d-lowz-no9931 Жыл бұрын
@@youtubeaccount458 oh yea, one more thing. If you’re not running a V&H FP3 tuner or something, you’ll want to do that. It wakes the bike up significantly from stock or even a two pipe system. You’ll want to tune it and get your fuel and air mixture just right. After that, it’s pretty awesome. I highly recommend it.

Great video! Very straight to the point. Exposure to sound at a constant level of 84dB or greater will cause permanent hearing loss. I would be interested to see you test the DB from inside a helmet while riding the bike at highway speeds.
@JuanderBoy
@JuanderBoy 6 ай бұрын
Unfortunately I do not have the means to do that test anymore, but I can tell you that 2 major factors make the noise considerably lowers inside the helmet; First, the helmet itself acts as an ear muffler, and second, the exhaust points back, which combined with the wind when riding minimizes the noise level.

I upped the displacement to 128ci, and put a full catless aftermarket exhaust on my 2020 M8 Touring bike. It went from 94dB @ 2510 RPM to 101dB @ 2510 RPM. That's roughly 4x the sound pressure the bike produced stock. You'll only hit 4000 RPM when you're accelerating hard or speeding on the freeway. Engine speeds on a Harley generally stay between 2000 and 3000 RPM, and will rarely exceed 3500 RPM. I now wear earplug when I ride. My hearing would be shot in months if I didn't.

I take my bike to 5k fairly often and a little over 6k if I'm feeling frisky...those volumes definitely matter. Beautiful thing about the Road Rage is it's fairly docile at idle and cruising speed and totally tolerable; it really only gets loud when you want to. It's a perfect balance.

@@JuanderBoy I don't make a lot of noise where I live, but people have mentioned it at pubs and bike meets. That figure is only when the throttle is open - I too set the db meter to record highest figure and went back to the bike to open the throttle, as when accelerating. Most of the time the throttle is only just open so the noise is not much above standard.

Hello there.. Im running a 2003 Dyna with TC88.. I Stg 2 upgraded with DK Customs EBS 606 aircleaner and S&S 509g complete camchest uograde and it had V&H Big Radius 2-2 exhaust. Basani makes another 2-1 exhaust, like yours, but a few inches longer. It goes on tomorrow, to replace Big Radius. The cam I installed is for lowend and mid torque improvements in baggers and dressers So I figured it would give big bump to my Dyna's lowend.. Also geardrives are for longevity.. Hoping the Basani 2-1 will wake up the can some more.. How are your Basani working out ? I subd

Have you ever received a fix it ticket for the Bassani? I'm getting conflicted answers as people say "CA doesnt care" or "CA will fix it ticket you"
@JuanderBoy
@JuanderBoy 3 жыл бұрын
Not at all, I've never had a problem. They're not legal to run in the streets in CA, but it's more of a gray area when it comes to getting a ticket. Most companies won't sell or ship to CA because the noise level is no sanctioned. Again, I have never had a problem whatsoever. If you give them a reason, they can legally give you a ticket, but if you follow the simple "don't ride like an asshole" rule, you'll be fine.
