Re-wiring my passing lights and running lights on the Fatboy

I would find a different power source when you use turn signals the low beam dims

Funny you say that. A few weeks later I went back in and re-did them and the ignition switch. Previous owner did some creative wiring there and at the coil. All straight now. You're spot on.

Help, I have an aftermarket set of Halo Led Passing lamps. The red and black wire turn on the light and the white halo ring. My problem is the light has two more wires....the light also has a amber halo for turn signals. So, the red and the black are the light and the white halo ring....there are two more wires a blue and yellow. Which on is the amber turn signal ring and why are there two wires....??? I would think on the light there would only be three wires....Power, Ground and Turn Signal wires...so, why 4 wires...I ohmed out using the black wire to the yellow and blue and both are showing resisitance. If one of the two of them were another ground I would not have seen resistance. Im lost on this one...Help..???

shoot a link of the lights you bought if possible. my thinking is your lights could offer more than just the Amber and White Halo. Ive seen colors as well which could be the additional wires. I very quick way to tell is to use a piece of wire going from the positive from your battery to each of those two wires to see what comes on. Since you've already validated they arent ground wires they must be positives. Providing power will reveal what they control. Might be able to figure more out if you can provide the link though. Hope this helps. If you are worried about connecting the wire straight to the positive, i would say add an inline fuse of like 5 amps to be safe. LEDS dont draw much and if it were to some how short, the 5amp fuse will go very quickly.

Can you send me info on tool to install mount kit on handle for these auxiliary lights? Those boots/screws, I don’t know how to open?? Thx in adv.

Hi Navi, are you talking about the actual mounting of the passing light bracket or something else? Not sure which tool you are looking for.

Yep, i do know there are folks who choose to use the high beam to also activate their passing lights. That's a pretty simple run too since you just route your wire right into the headlight bucket.

Is that state by state? I wonder what the thought is behind it since you are trying to increase visibility with the higher beam of light, why would it make sense to decrease the number of lights considering the passing light isnt directed as high as your high beam? Just curious but for me personally, they can write me the ticket all day long if they want to, Ill take the extra lights for safety.

I’ve never had issues with having them. Rather a ticket than death anyways

yeah, it only did that when the bike was off. When it was running no issues. Not sure if it was due to a weak battery while I kept testing or if it was something else but since it went away i didnt pay it no mind. Appreciate your feedback and support.
