Thank you Rocco for all your videos. You really take care to explain what and how you are doing. Wish you were close to me. Just bought a 2005 1200c with just 5000 miles and original tires even. Tossed those but carb needs cleaning etc. nothing major been riding 40 years and sold my 20 Road King due to cancer kicking my butt and taking my strength. I forgot how much fun Sportys could be. This gives me something to tinker with and with your KZfaq videos I’m ok. You are the greatest.

Now i need your help very much. I have a 883 curb Sportster 2000. It is shots to the carburetor, but only at idle or slow driving on the parking. I have done next: 1. Checked the fuel tank - clean. 2. Cleaned the strainer in the tank - clean. 3. Checked the fuel shutoff valve and the vacuum diaphragm - they work. 4. Replaced the vacuum tubes - the vacuum holds. 5. Checked VOES - works. 6. Cleaned and checked the carburetor, accelerator pump - everything is fine. 7. Compression is normal. 8. Intake manifold - the gaskets have been replaced, there is no air leakage. 9. I have changed the head gasket, checked the valves with solvent - there are no leaks. 10. Replaced spark plugs, replaced high-voltage cables. 11. Ignition adjustment has no effect. What you think?)

@@user-rv2cy3rv4e take a look at the video and take note which one has the Spring on the cable and use that as a reference point. It's only two ways it can go on. And then, if you throttle twist down, and the gas goes up, you're in business. I hope that helped. Offhand I don't recall which one.

@TwoWheelRocco

Happy to help you'll notice there's a spot on the cable hardware where that spring slides in when you're installing the cables. It gives you a little room to wiggle around. Happy to help. I've seen this before. The cables were ordered off eBay and their Chinese knock offs. they are just an eighth of an inch too short. I've seen people pull the metal off the cable and cut it back so they have more wire so they can install it. That's up to you how you wanna go about this, Any questions just ask. Thank you for watching. And all your support oxblood. Ride safe and have a great day. Let us know how it works out. Remember, you will end up with minimal adjustment at the throttle. I would return the cables and buy good ones different vendor and spend a little more money. Ebay is notorious for a bad parts. I like JP cycles fast delivery.

Just bought a 2006 sportster. I noticed too much freeplay in the throttle grip. Everytime I squeeze the front brake I end up turning the throttle grip enough to rev the bike forward. Not sure if there's a way to tighten the throttle grip. Its my first bike and I yes I did spoil myself I guess. I saw most of your how to videos but Im still afraid to do it myself. Dont want to take it to Harley dealership because they will charge an arm n leg. Theres a bike mechanic in my neck of the woods who has been around for 40+ years and he's very reasonable price-wise. Its winter so I haven't done anything to it. What would be some suggestions to get it in tip top shape? Its got 10k miles and starts right up.
@TwoWheelRocco
@TwoWheelRocco 8 ай бұрын
Happy to help. If something is not broke don't fix it,, your throttle as I understand you're hitting your front brake and the throttle is revving. That's the way you are handling it. Do you have free play in that throttle like a quarter inch if you do, that's proper some people like a little 8th inch. the less free play the more sensitive it is as you hit the break or when you just have the bike and you just hit it and it gets two sensitive free play is good for storage. I'll send you a video on how to winterize oil changes and good gas to 2006 bike so it's a Carburator bike. Start up bike. turn the Petcock and shut the gas off. Let the bike run until there's no more fuel in the carburetor. It will die out. Keep the bike on a the battery tender in the garage, check tire pressure. Wait till Spring. take a look at the video. Let us know what you think. Thank you for and all your support and ride safe and have a great day. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ett1oZdnmpm2ioU.htmlsi=xcxwmXI-peOdvaNE

@@TwoWheelRocco I'm just trying to get my existing cables back on after replacing the fuel inlet valve in my carburetor, so they are the stock cables. But I don't know where that little spring goes. Finding a diagram that shows that seems to be impossible. Even the service manual doesn't mention how to route the throttle cables.

@@jp2code happy to help look at part. 6:50. Then look at part 7:25. The spring will be on the inside cable. Take notice I removed the chrome cap to make room for the cable to fit. They were Chinese cables. That's why I know about it. The original cable on that bike was brought to me broke. He had the same problem. Hope that helps. Let us know ,take about quarter inch off the cable, and everything will be smooth, then make up the difference with the adjustment. At your throttle end cables.

I need advice! Have a 91 sportster. Just got it 2 weeks ago. As far as I know, the kid that owned it before me didn't have any problems. Bike rode fine for me since I've owned it but suddenly on my way to the harley 120th event it started bogging out under throttle. Have new plugs on it and wires and I also cleaned the carb. I ordered seals for the intake because I suspect an intake leak. Any advice would be appreciated if you have any suspicions
