Perhaps the pretty girls stopped letting the TV influence them. A lot of the pretty girls I knew growing up were total b-words. I'm an adult now and I feel like as women we've all learned to support each other because it feels a lot better to do that than to be like a bag of angry cats when we're around each other.

What makes every Miss Universe unique is how they speak of the advocacies they genuinely care for. In older times, beauty pageants may be a place for looks and personalities - but pageants nowadays are different. In a world where issues like poverty, discrimination, and others are rampant, the voice of an empowered woman (regardless of how she looks) is what truly matters.

I hope we reach a day when your weight (or weight gain) is between you and your doctor. It's really no one else's business. Glad she is platforming menstrual equity. People in the developed world take access to menstrual health items for granted. It's not true in the developing world though - in many places all women use are rags, or society confines women to their homes or even bedrooms during their menstrual cycles each month. Women are taught to feel embarrassed or even ashamed and filthy during their cycles. This needs to change.

I Just love the way Trevor Noah talks to people and makes people talk. He is so respectful and interested, even with Miss Universe he doesn’t make it all about her beauty but addresses the person inside.

I think at least parts of society is moving in the right direction, because my initial thought seeing her come in was "beautiful as expected, and how nice to see a miss universe with a slightly larger body, she looks very healthy". But I have to say I was still disappointed in society at large when I found out she gained the weight after the competition and was bullied for it.

Ikr.....but I'm proud that harnaaz stood strong and never tried to lose weight because she wanted to give hope to other women who believed they can't make it because of their weight or how they look ❤️

I appreciate her personality because I am of that belief that kindness is a really important thing and if you can treat people the way you want to be treated that you live a better life instead of always being disrespectful. She's just a generally kind person. So she's quite literally beautiful in all aspects of the word.

She is a real woman with a real figure. Not everyone is supposed to look picture perfect model like all the time. It's high time people start to normalise normal body shapes n sizes. What we see in models is unrealistic n very few women stay the same size all their life. Different phases of life, change your body shape n size. What's important is the person who owns that body. We're beyond our figures n hair n stuff. We have to start appreciating people for who they are n how they treat others than just how they look. The same men who marry a hot, attractive woman lose interest in her when she gains weight after childbirth or something. We need to teach our men to love women for who they are than just how they look. Because the body n skin, hair change in different phases of a woman's life. If a guy's going to have the character of going after hot girls.. He won't always be happy or satisfied in life because he'll be ogling at other hot women later in life who he'll never get after he's old n make his wife feel unlovable n undesirable.

But What you said isn’t true in the case of a miss universe…look at her…she’s miss universe…is that a joke or something…certainly the beauty pageant standards have been compromised for sure because of all the woke agenda out there…disgusting.
