Wooooo! Let's go!!! Harper's Quest 2 is a GREAT introduction to full-blown solo RPG gaming!! Love your videos, so I'm extremely excited for this. I haven't had time to solo RP recently because a lot has been going down, but this has given me the itch again, thank you! Once you get comfortable, for extra generators you might want to pick up a copy of Maze Rats or the Perilous Wilds (They compiled a book called the Perilous Tables which is cheaper and just contains the tables!) Harper's Quest 2 is extremely compatible with them IMO :) Also, thank you for linking my playthrough! :D

I don't consider myself a very creative person but the way this game is laid out is very intriguing to me. I love the idea of rolling to create a general outline to work within and then your creativity only needs to fill in the gaps within those guidelines. I've never played a solo RPG before but this one really interests me.

Thanks for the video, looks like a cool rules-light solo rpg. I could be wrong, but I think the two d12 starting items are meant to be free. My reasoning for that is that it doesn't make sense that a starting character would have to randomly roll for two things that they must purchase, especially if only 2 out of the 12 items are within the price range that is possible with 3d6x10 (30-180). Chaoclypse also interpreted the rules as meaning that the two rolls on the items table were for free items. Not big deal or anything. Happy gaming!

Interesting system. I enjoy the simplicity of it and setting everything up so far. Looking forward to sitting down and watching part 2.

I rolled almost this exact quest setup lol I had a haunted castle with Nature for the boss. Everything else was the same. Running it as my family used to be mad alchemists and were experimenting with necromancy. Ended up creating human/plant chimera instead so i have to bury the evidence. Awesome idea using 4AD as well. May borrow that and use their room tables to build out the castle

Love this system. I think I'll have to give it a go. I like how open it is, giving you a chance to build out your own narratives.

Enjoyed this thanks! One thing: you probably don't want to do 2d6 when it says 1d12, for two reasons: (1) 2d6 makes the result of "1" impossible, and (2) two dice creates a bell curve, where the mid-range is now more likely to roll than things on the beginning or end of the list, which I'm sure was not intended by the designer.
