Harry Anderson on Merv. I do not claim to own the rights to this segment. Early Harry Anderson.

Since his passing I've been watching Harry. I was a big fan of night court and now just wondering why he was not more popular then he was. Show Business is a strange thing

Majic is a tougher act to break in with. He did pretty damn good considering how many other comic magicians never get that far.

He did work after Night Court (even had his own sitcom in the 90s). From what I heard, his "dimned" star is deliberate because like a lot of former actors he wanted to stay out of the Hollywood limelight for a while.

Yes...I am doing the same thing. I seem to be drawn to his charisma , comedy and magic skill more now.

@@jonathanwashington6083 I heard Harry was co-owner of a comedy club in New Orleans. He went in on that after Dave's World ended. He also appeared in the It miniseries, his only dramatic role. I could have seen him doing more dramatic roles. I believe he retired from acting in the late 1990's. He also lived in Seattle for several years before relocating to New Orleans.

Leslie was his first Wife, I don't think she needed anything written down.

That's a pretty decent rendering of the first line of the Irish Washerwoman that Harry played on the concertina in this clip. Thanks for posting, MrMagicbymax.

Then Merv stepped in. "Harry, it's over. She did it. The act is over." Rest in peace, Harry. You are missed.

I always wanted to see Harry do a show based upon his Harry the Hat character from Cheers rather than the straight man judge on Night Court but I guess he wasn't typecast.

It's disappointing that I never got to see him in person

I'm curious what the card said that he forced. She was clearly reading it. Perhaps it told her to say that she forgot what the card was?

Does anyone know where the show is where Harry had his daughter in his satchel? I think it was on Merv

I don't think the gun humor would go over too well today. He's too weird, couldn't even finish watching the routine.

Different times. Lol I loved his weirdness, it's what set him apart from others.
@kevinnelson662 жыл бұрын
@@Cherryberrygirl89 I think it was his weirdness which got him his roles on Cheers, Night Court, and Dave's World. I've heard Harry Anderson and Peter Scolari knew each other during their street performer days in NYC.

@@kevinnelson66 I would say so too. He was talented as well, for sure. As a fellow weirdo, I've always been fascinated with Harry. ❤️
