His brain has to be ahead of his mouth by at least 15-20 seconds and he has the ability to use both in parallel. If you can't do either of those things, then you cannot improvise. While he talks, he has to think of fixed rhyme points that are in sync with the beat and also related to what he is processing around him. He is a walking thesaurus with an extremely good vocabulary, and draws upon a pretty large working memory of knowledge about current events. This isn't easy to do, props to this guy.

Very true and concise explanation of his cognitive functions. Would add - being a trained musician/drummer gives licence to the lyrical melodies, rhythmic changes and flows he chooses so deftly through the use of rap dialogue whilst staying in the pocket on any beat. Simply astounding.

I disagree in a way and this is very misleading. All these things you are talking about are things you do while you are LEARNING to freestyle and they only continue to happen as you learn new vocabulary and grammar articles along the way. But like a language, once you have it, you don’t have to think about it. Think of it in groups. His new language he invented sees “openers”, “connectors” and “finishers” as single words. That’s why it’s easy for him to pull these so quickly. It’s Like pulling single words for him. But he is almost literally creating a language to draw from.

What I love about H Mack is that he brings everyone together when he raps - young/old/black/white/rich/poor/etc. They all appreciate his craft and are equally impressed, and entertained by what he can do. Bringing people together - that's what music is all about. Respect!

Honestly I don't think there's ever gonna be a "best rapper" since rappers have so many differences. For example: A rapper could have better syncopation than another while that other rapper could be better at expression. 1. That first dude was the best 'word giver' yet. He gave Harry enough time on almost every word to snap. Same with the boxing dudes. 2. That Tony Hawk Underground line was fire and probably went over a lot of heads. That 'father on the court' line was insane, too. 3. That dude who asked if he was signed yet just went to grab an overthrown football and stayed for the freestyle haha his friend was probably like "dude wtf." 4. Harry has reached a new level with his past 6-10 vids (can't remember exactly). Mad props man keeping hip-hop alive and well.

I've been watching Harry's videos for about a year, and while he has always been good, he has gotten a LOT better. Really impressive stuff. He and Chris Turner are the best freestylers IMO, hope they collab in the future
