For your information: the background song is a WWII song from the male perspective of a soldier unafraid of death because his wife waits for him by the bedside of his daughter. He feels he cannot come to harm, because of her faith, even in the bloodiest battles. I cannot transmit the emotions required to properly process this video unless you already feel them as a result of some sort of Soviet experience. It is both cathartic and nostalgic.

@@mtboldschool its only cold in the winter (and even then not everywhere), Russian summers in most regions are 25+ °C. Its just an american propaganda tactic from the cold war (the USSR is shown as extremely grey and completely in ruins, there are drunk homeless bears everywhere and so on)

А в 90х Гарри стал спортсменом, подтянул братву из Хогвартса, и они вместе работали на Черкизовском, поднялись неплохо, правда потом всё по одному месту пошло, кто в Азкабане, двадцатку чалится, кому авадакедавру сделали, а кто-то увлёкся всякими зельями и не смог слезть, но это уже совсем другая история... Реалистичных сериалов или фильмов сейчас не снять. В СССР в 70-80 все были счастливы и жили хорошо с бесплатной медициной, образованием и работой где ни один начальник не мог говорить неуважительно. Люди ценились за интелект и духовность. Сейчас такое не будет снимать ни Россия потому как власти не выгодно чтобы люди скучали по тем временам и голосовали за коммунистов, они будут говорить что тогда были расстрелы лагеря и пустые полки в магазинах. Может и было, но в очень несерьезных масштабах. Запад вообще ни разу ничего правдаподобного не снял, постоянно пытается показать как в России плохо, грустно, холодно (летом +35 по Цельсию).

@@aeggbrune Sounds a tiny bit too English-ized to me. As someone who actually knows Russian, I'd name it slightly differently: "Koldovstvoretz". But J. K. Rowling knows better, so I won't judge her. It's her universe and her literary canon, after all, and I'm just a dumb peasant named Nikolai Ivanovich Glinomesov living in his small wooden house somewhere in the Russian outback, who only knows how to take care of his small vegetable garden and some livestock and is writing this comment on a cinder block brick stolen from the wall of a Soviet panel apartment building (okay, that last part was a joke).

I expect that this Harry Potter understands that due to the nature of humanity, regardless of how powerful a wizard you may be, people will never change and are ultimately doomed to repeat the same mistakes and fall to the same vices. However, while he understands the futility of it all, he was glad that his untimely sacrifice showed his friends and comrades what their heart really desired, which was not power nor glory, but to be loved in a cruel and feelingless world. The Russian Harry Potter (directed and produced by Andrei Tarkovsky) really does explore the themes set by Dostoyevsky and (to a lesser extent) Tolstoy.
