I have a theory about this. So I know there are a bunch of theories about “Louis the fish” and all, but this is basically how I see the video in my perspective. So I thought this video was about a fish until I found the name of the fish. Well even if the name wasn’t Louis, it represents ‘Larry’ to me. Allow me to explain: So at the beginning we see Harry finding a little fish. This represents the fist time Harry and Louis meet in X-factor. He keeps the fish with him and gives him food and all, which kind of reminds me of them living together in ‘princess park’. And then the fish gets bigger…but Harry still refuses to let it go. I like to think the fish getting bigger represents Larry ‘proofs’ and basically Harry’s love for Louis growing, if you get what I mean. And then The fish is shown on the news, which is basically the fandom shipping Larry and fans trying to make it official, or finding proofs and tweets about Larry and all, yk. Just the internet finding out, And so Harry has to hide the fish(his love for Louis). And There was an interview where Louis or Harry(I don’t quite remember which one said it) said that they’re dream date would be a picnic. And there’s a scene in the MV where it clearly is a picnic with tacos and all (The fish has a smaller one which represents Louis being smaller then Harry(not in age, in height and body size) aww!) But then it gets bigger and more known and people start searching for the fish. THIS represents people saying things like: “they never deny Larry” or “Larry is so real” or whatever others say. So there’s this one time where Harry goes to public with the fish, which is basically(In my opinion) the concert where they hug each other or little public Larry moments in general. And then the glass breaks. The glass, or the little barrier they had made to keep reality away from others breaks and they have to let go or else everyone will know. And so at the end, we see Harry throwing the fish into the water, which means he’s let go of him, drowning him and the feelings he had given Harry in a sea of water. So this video isn’t just about Larry because the fish’s name is Louis, in my opinion it’s more than that and Harry’s thought about it a lot. I hope this makes sense, it sounded better in my head.😀💔 (I don’t know if anyones ever discovered this theory or posted it before but I have never seen it soooo…if there has been someone I truely apologize but I did not copy anything. This is something I came up with at three am.)

I believe the fish is Zayn, because videos show they were very close in the band, when Zayn left Harry was heartbroken, he wrote If I Could Fly, Walking In The Wind after Zayn left, and their solo albums speak to each other. Harry wore a rose ring that had ties to Zayn.

Gosh I am too deep into this fandom! Sitting here and tryna figure out iof "we're taking some time apart" and "he's taking a gap year" means what I think it means - they broke up? went on hiatus with their relationship?! Dear god I need to get a life. And I only got here about 4 months ago. :D
