Those jeepneys are made by locals using second-hand engine motors from Japan and the bodies are locally made by mechanics in local shops called talyer (pasad). Harry, our lowly Sorbetes (Dirty Ice Cream) actually ranked #5 among Taste Atlas' 50 Best Frozen Desserts for 2023! While Halo-halo is at #43. And Harry, you should have visited the Philippine Eagle Sanctuary there in Davao. The Philippine Eagle is our majestic national bird - the largest eagle in the world in terms of length and wing surface area! It is a very beautiful bird especially when it raises its head plumage making it look like a lion's mane. And you should have visited Davao's Crocodile Park too where you can eat croc lechon and croc ice cream! And maybe go to Agusan, another province in Mindanao where they caught Lolong, the world's largest crocodile ever captured and placed in captivity (in 2013) at over 20 ft. in length! He died after about 2 yrs in captivity though. (His skeleton and taxidermied skin is on display at the National Museum of the Philippines.) But some say he still has a wife living in the Agusan waters that's said to be close to 30 ft. from an eye witness account! :)
