I wasn’t sure he actually forgot or that was just part of his act in there. Either way, he played it smooth. He definitely knows how to engage the audience. I also love the part where he was kind of pausing on purpose… It takes a lot of confidence to trust that the audience will get it and play along with it and I think that you’re forgetting something out or that you’re nervous.

Last one was the best, purely because she went from mad, closed off, crossed arms, to waving her arms and dancing around with a smile on her face. What's wild is at 4:57, he says "surround ya soon". Directly after that the lights started changing and without even pausing he was able to incorporate a bar about the lights changing colors and ends it with "around your room". I know we're always blown away by his freestyle skills, but anyone who's freestyled before knows how hard that is to immediately come up with a multi syllable rhyme to match that first bar in less than a second. Dude's on another level man.

It's a specialty. It's practice. A lot of great rappers can't freestyle for a long time, a lot of great freestylers don't really make great music. Black Thought, imho is probably the best of both worlds. You have to be okay with letting a few mediocre bars through, and that is in itself a really tough aspect of it.
