The sicker thing about it is the word on screen is "great". so he has to rhyme something with that before and within 1 sec he knows a whole bar to set up "great". So the bar before ("Rappers im about to killem they gon meet they faith") is faster thought of without even seeing the rhyme word in front of you.. MIND IS FAST.

People say he's so talented, and, he is, but... This man has put in decades of WORK. It's not just like talent gets you to mastery like this. All the greats worked their ass off.

Agreed, sometimes natural talent has nothing to do with it (though I’m sure he’s got some of that too) but you can start out absolutely terrible at something and out-work everybody who was naturally good at it.
@allanmarshall9925
@allanmarshall9925 Жыл бұрын
@@nuh-uhbro765 I agree. It's like eminem. He is the greatest to ever touch the mic and he wasn't born talented. He was bad for year before he went off to be the goat. I don't think anyone is born talented. I think talent is defined by training. It's like saying u have a talented doctor vs the doctor having a talented teacher. Neither is talented without hard work. I can't think of one person who is born with talent. I think people often misunderstand the definition of talent. Talent simply means skilled and skilled means practiced and practiced means dedicated and dedicated mean repetitious. Talent is nothing more than repetition.
@nuh-uhbro765
@nuh-uhbro765 Жыл бұрын
@@allanmarshall9925 I agree. Some people do have a natural “talent” for something but it only gets you so far. I was naturally pretty good at drawing as a kid and I impressed everybody in my classes, but I didn’t have the passion to keep it up. Now I suck at drawing and I’m willing to bet if anybody from my classes draws now they’re better today than I ever was.

Dude just dropped a damn life lesson. If you take what he said and pull it out of the context he meant to give, it can literally apply to everything in life. "When you practice, you focus only on the mistakes and how to correct them. But when you're performing, you got to release all that pressure and just go with the flow most comfortable to you."

Practice: 1: Put the target word on end of line 2 then work backwards to find something that rhymes with random word generator Ex: "Soul" work backwords Soul-Poll, " Everytime I rhyme they know I got the poll, People bout to feel these lyrics up on they soul " timestamps where important information is said: 10:42 - 11:25 11:58 ( Focus less on switching up flow focus more on technique ) 5:03 (focusing attention on one spot) Goal: To reduce filler as much as possible, try to pull content from the word that rhymes from the word (poll) and the punchline word (soul)

Something Hmack told me on another chat, and I know I’m not 20% of his level lol... if it’s a longer word, you can take just the partial syllable for the rhyme. Example: “intergalactic” as the word. “No filler, just scheming is my tactic. Rhyming to the world and going intergalactic.” Edit another example...something like “correspondence” as the word. “I’m the tutor passing on hints...checking out the live feed for correspondence” etc.

As a rapper and for the young ones, 5:38 this is the golden tip , as first you may look at that as a water bottle , but the hardest part that he talks about so easly is to call it a million things that requires you to have alot of vocabulary poping into your head when you look at it , not just water bottle.. go deeper it can be a container , h2o etc..

Thanks so much for making this man! I've gotten to my thirties rapping, but totally divorced from honing the craft in freestyles (just sticking to writing everything out in a really slow/methodical manner to get it done). You're grounding of it in a jazz musicians perspective just flipped this switch in my head to get on it and just start flowing some random riffs. Super inspiring video! Love the flow man! Really reminds me of Guru. Not too surprising as I think Guru was like Jay z in the sense that he'd build verses in his head as opposed to laying it down on paper first.

This blew my mind. Just seeing how deep you can go so quickly. And it was really fun watching you struggle, cause that kinda thing "never happens" in your videos, because you cover it up so well. I love the fact that you are so passionate about getting better, even though you're already on such a high level. Keep the Positivity and Good Energy flowing my man.

I have never heard this man be for right now... but these are some beautiful ass breakdowns for the thought process of an artist trying to improve... I do a lot of what he was talking about but the way he is trying to isolate the different techniques, rhythms, etcetera... it's like a body builder, working each muscle separately to come together as a whole and I can certainly appreciate that...

I NEVER freestyle. I usually write but as of lately, I've been noticing an increase in both my need to improvise on a song and people requesting me to freestyle. So I've been doing a few small bars here and there the past couple of days but most of it was filler or I'd get tongue-tied and choke. After watching this video; I managed to freestyle and list off the stickers on my guitar in "set up/punchline" style with very few slip ups. That's a HUGE improvement for me.

It's crazy, since I've started watching/listening to Harry, my freestyle ability has greatly improved. Watching this man is making me a better artist myself. The different flows and rhyme schemes he uses in his freestyles inspires my own flow. Though I try to have my own sound, I am no doubt inspired by certain artists, and Harry is definitely a big one for me. Thank you Harry for inspiring me so much and I know I'm not the only one you inspire.

Thanks for this, I'm not a rapper but I was curious about your practice routine because your improvement week to week is just staggering for any type of skill. The advice about isolation and focusing on weak areas and not allowing yourself to fall back on your strengths is really great. I'm going to apply this to painting and drawing.
