Thx for the reminder. This series was truly an eye opener. Normally cheering for terran/clem, I had so many "WTF-moments" regarding Harstem's performance, for once I had to switch sides and cheer for the toss-player/Harstem. I even thought it could finally be his year and wanted to put the champagne cold. Unfortunately not this time, but there is always a new year/new opportunity.

Well, MaxPax recently 3:0-ed him, and Skillous usually snatches a map xD PS. Just to be clear, as a Protoss and Terran player myself I assert that these races are in perfect balance. Well at least in Diamond/Masters - extreme overrepresentation of Protoss in every ESL cup needs further investigation ) Zerg however is IMBA :)

yer this can also go here :D 0:29 only? like not ghost emp which takes 50% and all energy from a P army ,making it an instant loss... not mass air and turrets making it an instant loss for p, not mass anything up to that point making it a fast loss for p. also raven -2 armour aka +2 dmg on ALL units is also an instant win if P has to fight while under its 3years long effect, is there any skill that last remotely this long while the target can take dmg? nope... if as a T with the absurd amount of easy mode tools, including op crap mines which need to be completely removed or nerfed so hard the baneling goes "damn thats harsh"; then you played sooooo vastly worse its just sad. seen T players play so sht and if they can just get to 5+ mines they will be safe untill ghost and at 5+ ghost you can't lose to P as T unless you are VASTLY worse, like we are talking 1.5-2k mmr lower in actual play, speed, knowledge, built etc.

@@Erebus2075 little lying whiner, are we?=) Nearly all Protoss units have more hp than shields. In case of wealots we are talking about 33% of totall health pool. Archons consist almost entirely of shields, but it takes 4 EMPs to remove it, not one as you pretend. Also EMP remove just 100 points energy, not all of it. You need 2 EMPs per Templar. If you are fighting while under effect of Raven's missile than you deserve to loose: Chargelots move at the speed of stimmed bio all the time and Stalkers have Blink. And same if you dying to WM drop.

I was watching just that one archon he hit at the beginning with the zealot and the stalker. It gets EMPed four times, *and survives the fight.* In the next fight, it gets its shields almost completely drained *again* and still survives until it sadly gets hit by a widow mine on its way home. It's not even like it's hanging back most of the time or anything, either. That archon is a hero.

rewording this form - I got a free kill of an expensive high tier unit for my cheap mid-tier unit that I forgot about. If it don't do anything in the early-mid game, I can't just walk across the map in the late game with a bunch of marines and push T. I don't know how to beat static defense! Also no 6th ranked terran should ever struggle with a 9th ranked protoss. Terran has no way to beat clumped up light units that can't hit air!

Terran has a bunch of units that counter the entire protoss army. Vikings beat every protoss unit except for immortals, which they never have to fight. BC beat literally every protoss unit. Marauders beat everything protoss on the ground but zealots, and maybe even that with kiting. And terran has an epic eco advantage with flying orbitals and mules.

That army isn't something I die to at 3.5k... but I do suck vs storm ruptors etc. If he could have hit anything with emp other than the colossi or medivacs... He would have steam rolled that army. Also the medivac count was almost non existent for every fight

Honestly, I, protoss, had a game on Tropical Sacrifice, where I played something like chargelot-stalker-archon and killed terran. The catch is terran had ghosts and he did EMP'd majority of my archons in the most fights, I was too lazy to transition out of this, but, also, I was a bit slower, than I needed to to transition, because, once I make storms, colossi, sg with carriers/tempest, I'd had been dead, because terran had been doing good job on outmultitasking me, therefore the only way out for me was to get my shit together and kill him, by increasing game speed to the point, he no longer would had been able to ever keep up or multitask. I succeeded in this, therefore I won that game. Not only I managed to win, but also I had rant from him about, that even EMPs can't stop archons, so OP they are. So, I kinda can see, how terran might just throw a game even having hard counter to templar archives tech units. I'm glad to say, I'm not the same, as I used to be back then, I have become quite noticeably faster since then, to the point, that even my sc2 friends, who know what kind of player I am, suspect, that my skill level is significantly above what I claim to be. I'm gittin' gud.

Army control seemed lacking, but mostly after the Mine part of the game. Did it seem like he simply has no practice beyond the early- to mid-game? The control just seemed to become way worse later on.

I think this is Ruff's influence. He always complains that terran has no late game against other races. But, to my understanding, he mainly refers to mech terran. Roughly, it is hard to kill ultra+broods+vipers+infestors for zerg. Against toss, it is hard to fight against the mobility of zealot runbys and easy defense with cannons and batteries, which does not require to split the army. I am not that high level at sc2, but still it feels like if you are not very aggressive with drops as a terran it is hard to win games in a straight fight.

I agree in a way, but think crediting Ruff is too far, though I do love him. In my platinum mind, it comes down to turtle style is easy until you get a 4th base, and then it all falls apart. I've been trying the aggro route of tons of widow mines on two base, dropped or just walking into my opponents base instead, and find the games aren't easier or harder, but decided much more quickly based on if they do or don't respond ^.^

I'm not sure I've seen ANY high-level Terrans recently (or ever?) not build a single tank in a game that wasn't a specific all-in or cheese. Especially if you're going to give up map control after losing some close fights on the other side of the map.

In TvP tanks are only good against Stalkers and even then you can defend against 3 gates with just bunkers and mines - or just bio if you opened 3 Rax (well at least on the ladder: I am diamond Terran and Protoss player thus I can't say for sure about those much higher ranked than me). Making tanks is just wasting production time and resources (and for Terran production time is an extremely important resource!!!). Tanks are especially useless against Stargate openers. So if you play Terran you may or may not want to build 1 tank if you scout 3 Gates, and you want to build 3 tanks if you scout 4 Gates. In other scenarios you don't want tanks. TvP/PvT is in the best state it ever was.

@@hinney827 T camping on 2 bases is free MMR. Normally push with Charge, Thermal lance and Archons walks through 3 base Terran like he is nothing (assuming you have not lost ~15 probes to early game harass).
