I'm proud to call Hartlepool my true home. I love it for all its charms and warts.
The video is meant to portray the town as it was for that day I filmed there. Some places look terribly run down and will not see many more years as the identity of Hartlepool changes.
It's a record of the transition, it's not propaganda for the Hartlepool tourist board nor is it meant to highlight the more negative appearance of the town.
Once some of these old places are gone that's it. We'll only have photographs and hand-me-down stories from generations before us.
I'm proud of the town and I look at these aged buildings and structures with reminiscence and respect. I just wanted to capture a little bit of history before it's gone.
Remember - if you're from Hartlepool you make the town what it is. If you say it's a shithole it will be. Do something about it - Pick up your litter, bring your kids up right, help nanas carry their shopping - then you'll see it's attitude that makes it what it is.
