Hartwood Hospital

3 жыл бұрынThis was an exploration of the remaining buildings of the complex of Hartwood Hospital, in the village of Hartwood, Lanarkshire in Scotland.
Much of the site has been demolished, due to vandalism and 2 major fires over the years since closing.
On one side of the complex is the remaining main hospital buildings, recreation fields & reservoir and on the other side is the Nurse's accommodation building, which later became a training centre before closing.
The site is about to be redeveloped soon by Taylor Group Scotland Limited and they have committed to the restoration of the former hospital and nurses home in the longer term.

I'm only 53 and remember it well in my teens, it was fully functional hospital with bowling green, tennis court, market garden, landscaping, bus route going through grounds, football pitch, huge employer too and also remember few parties at the nurses accommodation block! Sad that people won't remember it at all soon.

great footage the 1890 AD stone work does not fit in with the rest of the weathered sandstone blocks this building is alot older , they are hiding or real history from us

was here not too long ago with some of my mates we got to one of the buildings and in one of the corners there is a weird pen writing on the wall saying “those who see shall never be found” we found this really creepy and decided to leave as most of us were a bit scared. When we got back to the way we got it we looked up at the big tower and seen something of a women standing in the window , my friend pointed it out and we made a run for so when we got to the train station we got a hold of the footage my friend took and in one of the shots the women was in the background when we were outside, don’t think I’ll be visiting again

It can be accessed from the railway station but the remaining buildings are fenced off.

@@taylorstevensonfilmmaker You can access the site by going up the ramp from Hartwood railway station. Go across the railway bridge and follow the road, keeping left. Its a 5-10 minute walk
