@@rue2599 Ayo that's not how it works. I've applied for need based financial aid at both Harvard and Yale, and there are no merit based scholarships(at least for international students). Need based aid is extremely generous, and if your family income is under 60k a year, there's no parent contribution. (They also happen to be need blind) Harvard's website literally says 47% of students get aid at the college.

I went to Yale. 4 years, parents never paid a dime, and I only have about $2500 in loans which is because they didn't cover health insurance, but they changed that policy my junior year. Students with parent incomes under $70000 basically go for free. I also got a stipend freshmen year to buy winter clothing, and it's possible to get assistance getting a laptop.

I legit believe the right way to do college is to go to 2 years of community then finish 2 years at a 4 year like a university. Then you have a compelling story for masters or PhD work that will probably get you a really good scholarship or even a full ride. Essentially, you will save like 180k of that 200k debt. Even though I go to a 4 year myself, I believe it is the right thing to do. The only exception is if you want to be student body chair, you most likely need the 4 years.

Harvard is free for people from low income communities + people who need financial aid- They don’t provide merit scholarship but they support everyone who gets in by the financial needs

I visited Yale for a high school program and it was absolutely beautiful. Except the older dorms had a bat! CT overall is just stunning. Though the heat was so different from what I’m used to. I’m from the South and CT in July was horrible. I was constantly drenched in sweat.

Yale also has awesome basements! I went on a summit there(didn't apply for admission, worked way too hard for those ap credits😂) and those basements were so awesome. They'd connect everywhere on campus, and had basketball courts, kitchens, dining rooms, game rooms, the list goes on. Absolutely amazing.

It's true😂 The famous line said in India by parents whose child are smart: If he/ she can't get into IIT ,then as a backup option he/she can apply for Harvard/Oxford. It is really hard. Harvard is all about connection and links.

@@SL-my4fg certainly not true. While people may say that getting into Harvard is easier than IIT, the fact is that you need to work much much Hatcher to even have a chance at getting into Harvard. IITs only want stellar marks but Harvard requires both a great SAT score and super impressive extracurricular activities. You are correct about the connection thing but then again a very small proportion of the class is rich/connected enough to actually influence their admissions that way.
