Yeah Dr Hardy isn't the oldest one. Your character just dies really early, at 50 or so. Since your son is a young adult, he's probably around 25 at the end (maybe even less since he decides his career, 25 might be a little late but let's say he's 25). The game start when you're around 25 (all the bachelorettes in base game, so not counting Lumina, have between 24 and 30 yo). So even if the doctor was 50 yo at the beginning (he's probably younger than that), he would only be 75 yo. Galen and Romana are the weird ones, they should definitely die before you lmao (same for your dog) And like I said about the son, it's very possible that the game just only last for 20 or 22 years, which makes every character even younger. Really, Galen and Romana are the only ones that should have died.

The newer games seem so much more two dementional. Theres no life anymore, its hard to fet immersed in something that feels like a churned out formula. I really miss the old games :(

Yea rivals and rival children were awesome in animal parade. I wish they would try to completely remake this game. With stages and the people around you actually aging and having children too. Although I guess there’s sims for that.

The last Harvest Moon game I loved was A New Beginning. While it didn't have everything you mentioned, but the child in the game does grow up. The child grows up through some special candy, but it is a temporary thing and can be reproduced if you have this special honey. It's been a while since I've last played the game, but it was the only game that has made me play the game over and over again. The newer games, Story of Seasons and Trio of Towns, have left me bored. I mean I'm all for laid backness within these games, but add more content to make me want to continue playing. It's like Gen 7 of Pokemon, it never gave me incentive to play when the main game is done with.
