Captured live during SDA's Summer Games Done Quick 2013 in which $255,160.62 in over 10000 individual donations to Doctors without Borders was raised (as of August 1st), making this the first time the $1,000,000 mark has been reached and surpassed for money raised by SDA charity marathons (in total across all marathons)!!!! Harvest Moon is a farm simulation role-playing video game series created by Yasuhiro Wada and produced by Victor Interactive Software (acquired by Marvelous Entertainment in 2003). English translation and distribution of the game is done by Natsume for North America and Rising Star Games for Europe. The main objective of the game is to rebuild a run-down old farm and turn it into a successful one. Over a period of time the player tends to crops and livestock, befriends nearby townsfolk, and eventually in some series get married and start a family. Source: en.wikipedia.or...)

For those of you who don't understand: If you hold R, L, and Select while going to bed, it instantly ends the game, and the ending is different depending on how well you did in the game (Go1den got the bad ending, since he did absolutely nothing on his farm.)

One of my favorite Snes Games, I would rent it and marathon game it over a weekend to beat it before having to return it to the rental store. Who knew I was doing it wrong the whole time :p

I've had boss battles that were longer. On that note, I've had sub-boss battles that were longer. Wait... I've even had random enemy encounters that were longer. Stay free, Harvest Moon.

I love these games. >w< My family tried so hard to get me to play Farmville... but their efforts were all in vain cause I love Harvest Moon farming better~ Me and my brother-in-law always do the first loading screen in silly voices. Like, I'll say "Natsume!" in a deep voice and then he'll go "Serious Fun~" in a high toned voice.

Its just a short joke filler. Its not costing much time, so great to have this little moments in a marathon, cheers up the crowd, its freaking funny, if you actual "expect" something ^^

They are charity events, just follow them on facebook and youll know when the next one starts. I highly recommend to watch these, they are very entertaining and fun to watch!

Will the Okami run and Twilight Princess run be coming up in the near and/or distant future? I'm hesitant to watch other runs of them until I see the ones from SDGQ because I wish to be amazed while having commentary violently thrown at my face.

i played that game many times and just got that ending, where your father takes you to the mountain and the screen stops at that one star blinking the entire time. Had a good farm and a wife, which i got pretty late, because i didn´t knew how to get her sooner (the roange haired one X"D ) But that ending is completly new to me

Then why don't you do it? If there's not much work to it. Go1den runs a lot of games, he's more known for SMW, this run was for fun and he streams longer Harvest Moon runs. And it's nice for a runner to try out a new game rather than one that's in their wheelhouse already.

Seems like. Back in college I found it heartwarming to see all the married couples who played World of Warcraft together, and there's plenty of articles about whole families gaming together. I've been raising my nephews and niece on "the good stuff," and now my nephew (just turned 12) is farther in Super Metroid than I ever got. The circle of friends I game with regularly, we play mostly tabletop role-playing games, some board and card games, occasional video games (they introduced me to Saints Row IV, which is by far the most fun video game I've ever experienced, and I've been playing video games since the SNES era). And there are four couples among my friends, and of those eight people only one hasn't gamed with us, which might be only because they live on the other side of the state (Skype sessions worked for a while for her husband, but right now he's too busy to participate regularly). One of my friends brought his girlfriend to our game sessions, and she enjoyed it straight off, and after a while he announced the engagement, and last year I got to attend their wedding. He recited his vows in a poem based on role-play game terminology; it was incredibly sweet. My gift to them was a framed drawing of their characters (a fox ninja and a troll prostitute) dressed up as bridesmaids, having just caught the bouquet.

Also, as far as gender distribution: For a long time I was the only girl in our group, and now we've got four girls to some seven guys (though only two of us girls and four guys show up on a weekly basis right now).

Nostalgia is quite enjoyable at times. Of course, the trick is to grow up knowing which parts to grow out of because they're not worth hanging onto, and which parts to continue enjoying through the years no matter what other people think of it. Kinda sad how some people get rid of the good stuff just because other people don't like it.

...y'know, back in 1999 there was a song made from a speech, with the line "Be kind to your knees: You'll miss THEM when they're gone." Though, don't feel too alone. There's a lady in our church, one of my friends even though she's much older than I am, who decided to get on a trampoline during one of our church get-togethers, and she's still suffering the repercussions of that decision. Hold L + R + Select to get to see the ending based on how you are doing so far. The game automatically ends after 2.5 in game years.

draggy76 Those are usually called Tool assisted or Cheated speedruns, and aren't compared to other types of speedruns.

draggy76 Using in-game commands that lead to the credit roll could be considered beating the game. Dominick Olson Playing the game on console with a controller in human hands and no hacks or anything else would not be considered a TAS.

I wish they actually explain what happen, the game being in some weird language doesn't help either, does the language influence the outcome ? how ? how did the "talking to all the girls" produce this outcome ? is does it have to be that specific order ? i like following this runs just 'cause they explain what the they are doing, but this one was a let down ...
