Thank you so very much for promoting donations of garden produce to local food pantries. I volunteer at our local food shelf & we so appreciate when gardeners bring in their extra produce. You wouldn't believe how much this means to both the organization & especially the clients. Thank you for leading by example & spreading the word.

I found your channel and started watching your videos in 2018 after a tough 2017 (I lost 5 family members in 2017 - my Dad being one of them). Garden Answer became my therapy and I tell you, it couldn't have come at a better time! I come from a family of gardeners/farmers but it wasn't until I turned one half century old for that 'seed' within my DNA to 'sprout'. I've learned so much from Garden Answer and what used to be a bare landscape - at my home - now has trees, shrubs and flower beds and it's still growing. Sometimes when I'm out in the yard, neighbors driving by or walking their dog will stop and ask me: "what is the name of that plant?", "where can I get that plant?" It's unadulterated joy - for me - to have these conversations. It's taken some time but my Faith, Garden Answer and gardening have restored me and I can't even begin to express my gratitude. ❤🌹🌼🌻🌺🐞

One of the many reasons I love to watch Garden Answer is the community spirt that I see on this site. The donations to the Food Bank warm my heart. My Dad had a deal with the local food warehouse in our home town. Three times a week he would pick up food that they were going to throw away and take it to our local food bank and then what they did not need the Salvation Army would come and take the rest. When my Dad was in the hospital before he died the Director of the Salvation Army came to visit him. He told my Dad that the food he had been saving over the last 15 years was feeding over 2000 people a month. Just as he left a legacy for me to follow I think that Laura and Aaron are setting a fantastic example for Benjamin and Samantha Grace.

Cabbage perfection! Bless you tenfold for growing with the intent to share. Hey, I dug my very first potato last night! I'm 62 and it's my first time growing them. Got the seeds from my dad who got them from his brother in KY. My uncle has been deceased for 10 years. I want to keep his pioneer potatoes going, like dad. And, I washed the potato well, salted & peppered it and ate it. YUM!

Thanks for your efforts to help out the community. Beautiful cabbages to be shared. I’m reminded (I think last year) you took a pickup load to the garden center and gave them away. (Am I remembering that right?). I was in Nyssa last year for that, but didn’t make it to Ontario that day for it. Really fun to see the delightful reactions of folks, though. 💚💚💚

Oh wow the cabbage is looking amazing! It is winter here in Sydney, and number of floods on the Australian east coast, and inflation, cabbage prices have gone through the roof around where I live, it is somewhere between $10-$15 for a head of cabbage and lettuce is about the same as well 🥺 I can’t wait for warmer weather to come!

@Simple Life, WOWWWWW, that is highway robbery; $10-$15 per head of lettuce or cabbage? A single seed would only cost about 5 cents. The stores and government should be ASHAMED of themselves for their greed and taking advantage of people. I am sorry to hear that Australia is suffering those outrageous prices.💔

I always have extra vegetable starts but I grew extra for a Girl Scout Gold Award which was starting a community raised bed vegetable garden for a food pantry. I also save some for a community garden in the city of Syracuse. It makes you feel good to give back to the community with something you love! Be warned my mahogany splendor gets about 5 feet tall.
