suits FINALLY came back two weeks ago, just in time for my brain to decide that vidding darvey is suddenly a hard thing to do. after 7.11 aired and made me complete trash, making a darvey edit was somehow impossible. maybe because the show genuinely surprised me and took a different route than I expected, which is why none of the songs I had prepared fit the situation. but now, after 7.12, I'm back on track and I got this done just in time before 7.13 airs and kills us all :)
this song has been on my vidding list for over a year and there was never the right moment to vid it, but nevertheless I started this project numerous times, after the season 6 finale, sometime during 7A, after the midseason finale etc etc. I could never get it done though, it always felt like it wasn't meant to be finished and it drove me nuts. but now, I've successfully restarted and finished the project after such a long time & a lot of hard work and it feels so good.
this might be one of my favourite darvey videos that I've made myself, I'm really happy with the result. I edit them so often and to so many different songs, but I feel like this time I could properly show at least a hint of their connection and complexity, and how their relationship is really the furthest thing from platonic.
donna means so much to harvey, and vice versa, and the thought of losing each other is so terrifying that they chose to shove down their real feelings for over a decade, for the sake of their friendship. and now that it's starting to come back to the surface, they're both so vulnerable and they keep trying to go back to the way they were, but it's not working anymore. it all feels so genuine, so carefully mapped out, and I can't wait for the rest of the season and for them to finally realise they are each other's happiness.
