Ryse Aero Technologies was founded in 2021 in Mason, Ohio, USA, and Mick Kowitz is President and CEO.
The company plans to produce modular aircraft that will allow its customers to have aircraft specifically designed according to their needs. The company is focusing on building a plane to make a good electric plane for tasks better done by flying. The first eVTOL aircraft produced by the company is Recon and was unveiled on May 9-10, 2022 in Long Beach, California, USA.
Recon is a single-passenger eVTOL multicopter aircraft with a top speed of 63 mph (101 km/h) and a range of 25 miles (40 km). The aircraft has six propellers, six electric motors, an open cockpit and an open fuselage. The multicopter can take off and land from land and water. This feature will be a big plus for customers because there will be no need for prepared runways for flights and landings. Water landings and takeoffs will be very practical on our planet, where 71% of the surface is water.
Learning to fly the Recon multicopter will be easy because the aircraft has advanced AI support and simple cockpit controls. There will be no need for extensive training to fly the plane. This type of computer-assisted piloting will expand the reach of people who never thought they could fly an airplane but can fly one with Recon.
The patent-pending removable battery system is designed for a single person to replace batteries with minimal training. Battery packs are designed to work like the replaceable batteries you find in power tools. Batteries are easily removable and rechargeable, and you can keep affordable spare battery sets on site. The removable battery pack feature also allows for easy replacement of better batteries that will be released in the near future.
Features/Benefits of Recon
Easy to fly with minimal training
Easy to remove and replace rechargeable battery packs
Cost effective with low maintenance
Lightweight and easy to carry
It has high security, high reliability and multiple redundancy
Fits into a standard parking space
Can be used in many aerial missions
The aircraft has six fixed landing legs for takeoff and landing. Having fixed landing legs makes the aircraft less complex, more reliable, and reduces purchasing cost and maintenance costs. For water landings and takeoffs, the aircraft floats under the open cockpit, and the landing legs provide additional buoyancy, helping to prevent the aircraft from tipping over in the water.
Since the aircraft is modular, the company expects to provide aircraft of different sizes according to the customer's needs. Future aircraft will also have the option of adding fixed wings, which will help extend the aircraft's range and usefulness.
The Recon eVTOL aircraft will be sold as an ultralight vehicle.
Features:
Aircraft type: eVTOL reconfigurable passenger multicopter aircraft
Piloting: 1 pilot
Top speed: 63 mph (101 km/h)
Maximum range: 25 miles (40 km)
Flight Duration: Unknown
Cruising altitude: Unknown
Propellers: 6 propellers
Electric Motors: 6 electric motors
Power supply: Batteries (batteries are easy to remove)
Body: Unknown
Cockpit: Open cockpit
Landing gear: 6 landing legs and can take off and land on the ground or water
Safety features: Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP) provides safety through redundancy for its passengers and/or cargo. DEP means having more than one propeller (or ducted fan) and engine on the aircraft, so that if one or more propeller (ducted fan) or engine fails, the other working propellers (or ducted fan) and engines can land the plane safely. There are also redundancies in the aircraft's subsystems.

Even experimental aircraft have to file a flight plan before they can take to the sky. AND, that pilot/driver/owner had better make sure their insurance is paid up because they will be liable for any and all damage this vehicle might cause.

People can't drive, and now we're going to put them into aircrafts? What could go wrong?
