I can't wait for another Miriam Defensor to join Philippine politics. She is still a beacon for feminine power and women's rights liberation in the Philippines. I was truly heart broken when she passed away. I hope she inspired more young women to carry her passion and fight against Filipino patriarchal government.

Haha story ko lang ha, when i study Law, I was really pressured because of our professor, then when i graduate, i ask my prof, sabi ko: why your are always strict and terror. The she said i was a fan and always listening to Professor Miriam Santiago, and i was her student too when she was alive before, then i understand why 😅

The reporting of the rappler on this particular news is outrageous, especially comparing Sen. Miriam who devoted her life for the public to an attorney who not even have the decency in court. Rappler should be embarrassed by this.

Hindi ako Filipino citizen and I have only been interested in Philippine's politics lately and came across and been getting to know Senator M. Santiago through watching her on KZfaq and she seems genuine, straightforward, honest, intelligent, strong and fearless. Sinayang ng mga Kababayan at hindi sya ang binuto as a President. She would have wiped out all the corrupt politicians making sure the lives of Filipinos are comfortable. Mga Filipinos nga talaga they need to learn who to vote talaga. Choose an honest one hindi yong may pera or popular na mga artista or mga broken promises. I hope there will be another Miriam Santiago the GREAT in the future who will set matters straight. RIP Mirian Santiago the GREAT.

I absolutely love this session..... look here I just came from court this morning. Whether the judge hurt my feelings or not, its not for me to voice my opinion out there. This gentlemen is unprofessional and cannot take the heat. If he is part of the prosecuting team, I will be worried that half of his case will probably loose. Personal feelings should be put to rest and just deal with the facts. Now I have the freedom of speech to bad mouth or disagree with the judge outside court.

You just can't win a trial by lecturing the judge and go as far as demanding respect from the judge. That was quite childish and it looked like the lawyer was living in a dream world. He failed to be objective by keeping the focus of the trial on the case. I say he just failed his client. There will always be tough judges. Miriam was right. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. I say the lawyer actually faced a solid brick wall. This was Miriam in his usual routine.

I have to admit it's hard to disagree with Sen Santiago who obviously has strong passion for her field of discipline. When lawyers start taking the proper administration of the law for granted, someone has to do something, or our justice system risk going down the drain. But this of course is the judge's responsibility.

Enrile once said that the court has limits to its patience. Defensor-Santiago warned the prosec about their mal-practices several times. Now she exploded, the prosecution should see it coming. Aguirre's act is understandable BUT not EXCUSABLE. Try doing that in another country's court, not an ounce of tolerance will be given.
