सन 1961 में बनी फिल्म जंगली का यह गाना सैकड़ों बार सुना होगा लेकिन इसका माधुर्य कम नहीं हुआ है ,राग यमन पर आधारित यह नग़्मा बहुत अच्छा लगता है ,जंगली फिल्म सन 1963-64में देखी थी ,दोनों आवाज़ों में लता व रफ़ी गजब का गाना है .धन्यवाद ।

सन1960मे, मैं 18साल का था तब इस फिल्म के सब गानों को सुनने के लिए फिल्म को 9 बार देखा था।अव81साल की आयु मे भी सुनने को मिल रहा है। गीतकार, संगीतकार और गायक गायिका चारों का कमाल है कि यह गीत कितना सकून देता है।

I am not an Indian, neither understands a word said in this song, but when I first heard it sometimes in early 70s at about the age of 10, I was mesmerized with emotions, couldn't help shedding tears of heart broken imaginations, which still freezes me to date. I think emotions are like waves, they transcends and/or penetrates all barriers. Rafi's voice is indeed a legend. May his soul rest in peace, amin. I am a Nigerian - Hausa by tribe.

This is probably the best performance ever by any playback singer in the entire history of Bollywood. Sorry to say, but Lata ji just couldn't match Rafi Sahab's magic in this one. This song was, still is and will always be timeless. The expression is so beautiful. It boggles the mind as to how can the same word be sung differently and each time he does it, he invokes a different emotion. Rafi Sahab's contribution to music with his singing doesnt need a Bharat Ratna to gain validation. He himself is a Bharat Ratna and listeners from all backgrounds absolutely adore him. My salutes to the great man. Wish he'd lived longer so we couldve seen him on TV in singing shows as a MahaGuru.

Go and read some Biology. Male and Female vocals cords are very different from each other. This song was composed for male scale and the female video was also picturised by using Male Version, later Lataji had to sung this by matching male scale which is next to impossible for any other female singer.
