yeah. I cant believe its not fixed. You can see total number by checking your exile zone (face down cards), but it only shows non lands so you can do the math. Huge info to get. Its hilarious seeing them take 6 and knowing they were all land.

I was wondering what was going on the other day when my opponent kept playing cards from seemingly-nowhere. I figured it was a glitch with Outrageous Robbery, but didn't realize it gave that info specifically.

The Wandering Emperor is so good that you basically have it, even when you don't, cause opponents will always expect it from UW control and thus play around it regardless.

Yeah, I had people play around it when it wasn't even in my deck. Reminds me of Settle the Wreckage. You could just bluff it and take half damage.

interesting? that was the most boring game with a teethless deck ive ever seen... gues im not a big "no wincon control deck" fan, looks like the wincon for a deck like this is to make the opponent leave because hes bored or out of time.

I guess this is the UW control deck with 3 caverns and no creatures mainboard, and having 15 angels in the sideboard to switch to UW Angels Midrange Plan. Really cool

For the second matchup vs esper planeswalkers, this is why I love Urza’s Sylex, wipes the whole board and can give you another Jace if you have an extra 2 mana. I know CGB said it’s too slow but you can keep it in your hand, play it and use it the same turn if you have enough 7 mana.

with outragous robbery it exiles the cards and you can check your exile zone to see exactly how many cards they still have of yours that they can play they will be shown face down instead of face up in the exile zone

Destroying the anchorage was not necessary, since they did not have the blue mana to activate it, and the "cast using any color" from the steal was not relevant anymore.

Wowzers! Amazing content CGB! That last game reminded me of the Sherlock Holmes (Downey Jr.) chess-like fight scenes, where every punch is surgically executed and every counterpunch is anticipated and avoided. PS. My plan is to renew my CKC Membership on Android and save myself a couple bucks lol (Apple tears are the sweetest)

If you are a control deck and manage to get 8 lands on board you most likely win anyway. Sounds like a win-more card, which isn't optimal.

@@Dunsie I disagree with "winnmore". I mean, it takes your opponent's Atraxa when they discard it for reanimation, or steals their portal, or any other big target. It's definitely not to just win MORE, you can absolutely use it at unexpected times to GET the win in the first place.

@@daodrassulravan5520 and in other games you have a 4 Mana do nothing blue spell while boros aggro swings at you wildly. Maybe as a one-of fun card. Edit: in my opinion just running soul partition does pretty much the same thing and is also much more versatile. It can slow down aggro by quite a bit. Go -4 with jayce, soul partition, play it again.

i have never understood why people think wandering emperor is so OP. usually it's 4 for an instant removal effect, and the tokens are never really that intimidating. maybe just because of the decks i play, i have never found her all that difficult to deal with.

@@DavtazBuildingz It's got 8 sweepers & 4 Unions, so you're basically forced to switch for any control match-up. The original list runs caverns in the main deck to help with that though.

Wandering emperor is definitely good but shes not even the best pw in standard even though she is probably the most played. She was a lot better when less go wide was more of the meta

Short answer is "No". Long answer is shes over-rated. I dont keep mana up and even on the draw shes situational at best. I had her as a centerpiece (4x) in a jank Bankbuster/Wedding/Champions of Tyr/Santuary Warden Mythic Alchemy deck, but even i would argue Mythic is meaningless. Overall she's not broken or even a bomb. She shines in Standard/Alchemy but im guessing she isnt a factor in other formats. I dont know anything about draft. Im a new-ish Magic player (Arena only since July 2022), so take my comments for what it is.

Lol, that 2nd game deck looks like the Esper pile I've been playing since MoM. I replaced Vraska with the new Kaya. She's great for against control piles.

I’ve been playing without emporer for awhile because it’s just too slow and there are too many 4 drops (jace and deluge) you must play. Basically I stay alive and then mill them with Jace. So I use “stay alive” cards like smite, candy tail and sunset revelry along with 8 wrath effects (combos of lockdown, depop, sunfall, farewell depending on my mood) Face it, on turn 4 a depopulate or lockdown is way better than an emporer vs all aggro decks. Sure if I run into a noob with a 80+ card deck I have to win with sunfall tokens or the 2/3 land guy, but that can still be done.

Mono-white with no Wandering Emperor? Ah, well, you still have SUnfall, Depopulate, and March. Still nearly-guaranteed to have long, boring non-games and make your opponent decide they would rather do anything but play magic right now.
