I say this as a pure, neutral foreign observer ---- who did a lot of reading, in high school and in college.... of Mandela and his activities in South Africa, from his work with grassroots groups, including the very hard fighting WHITE/JEWISH COMMUNIST friends of his ---- I must say, I have become quite disappointed in how the ANC has turned out the last 35 - 40 years... I still listen, once in a while, to Robert F. Kennedy's very moving speech given on and about South Africa... and how while no one, not even Mandela, could drastically change history... but that EACH HUMAN has to ability to make a little bit of contribution to making history and society better for the NEXT GENERATION.... I remember listening to Mandela's own speeches, even when he's still in prison.... Fast forwarded to 2024: the rulers of South Africa, entirely Black leaders since Mandela, have SHIFTED from a Western-supported, Western-inspired, Democratic oriented society to a totalitarian, USSR/Russia-Chinese-North Korean-Cub-Iran-Indian socalled NON-ALIGNED, BRICS nation out to topple the Dollar, the US, Western Europe, Liberal Democracy.... And the Blacks of South Africa, rulers and citizens, alike are jumping up and down regurgitating 1950s and 60s USSR/Chinese Communist propaganda bullshit.... No matter what anyone thinks of the US or Western Europe.... if you think the MODEL, the APPROACHING to ruling, to governance, to government & politics & civil society... that the USSR/the Russians & the Chinese & the Persians & North Koreans are operating with... IS THE WAY to peace, prosperity, harmony, democracy, etc. then there is NO HOPE for you.... So sad to see Nelson Mandela's ANC become a silly, third wheel to the Chinese-Soviet/Russian scheme/machine ---- a VERY AGGRESSIVE, imperialist approach like the approach the US and Western Europe used to operate on.... until the mid 1900s, when they stopped doing classical colonial activities. That totalitarian approach..... asserted as the best, most free, most democratic, etc. BY THE RULERS (in Russia, in China, in North Kora, in Iran, in Cuba, in India, in South Africa, etc).... of such an authoritarian approach..... is just NOT the way to go, for THIRD WORLD PEOPLE.... Germany, Japan, and South Korea, three of the most prosperous, most technologically advanced, most democratic nations, currently....ALL WERE AMONG the most autocratic, most racist nations on earth. But once they're DEFEATED and were brought under the US and Western Europe's influence....
