I can't believe this song was on the cutting room floor and almost didn't make it into the show... I still think it's the most emotionally powerful song in the entire show. You have to give credit to the OBC, because the actress who sings this reprise apparently fought to keep it in the show, and Matt and Trey actually listened to her. Fucking fantastic all around

This number, for me, is the heart of the show. It under cuts all of the levity and let's you know that these are real people.

This NEEDS to be on the recorded version. This is the most powerful part of the entire musical in my opinion. I know it's a comedy, but fuck me, this hits hard.

I had no idea this existed when I first saw the show live, and I was blown away that what I thought was just going to be goofy satire made me bawl like a baby. Syesha is incredible here, too.

I think it hits so hard not just cause of the emotions and context, but because it isn’t on the cast recording. It’s a special treat for those who see it live and get wrapped in the story. I remember Lin Manuel writing about leaving Laurens’ death off the cast recording cause as an audience member he always likes to be surprised by that one moment in the show he wasn’t ready for despite knowing the cast recording front and back, and this is that moment in this show

The whole thing gets taken down all the time. I have had this full bootleg probably 20 times under as many names. The copyright police keep taking it down. I keep finding it with creative searches. But geez. I have already spent tons of bucks seeing this show live four times. Why can't I just enjoy the bootleg.

@Mystery- Ish Thanks! Yeah i haven't seen the musical or a recording of it, i've just listened to the soundtrack so i feel like i'm missing a lot of the story. I take it someone gets shot in the face by a warlord? Haha

@@vivmcdaugherty5692 Yeah, this isn't like Les Mis or Hamilton where (almost) the entire script is sung, there is a lot of dialogue between. There are some decent slime tutorials out there though, let me know if you need one.
