nah fr and like, they're talking about so many different random things, it would be better to focus on just one issue and really advocate for it, and make it known that that is what your purpose is as a restaurant. like if you wanna do the ethics about the meat industry, then do that, but dont do an andy warhol banana and a random tongue and all the other stuff too😭 ^and like they said, why tf they serving fois gras if they're trying to be woke

if you think about it, you would pay 500 dollars for great tickets for your favourite music artist and that's for 2 - 3hrs, where the performance itself isn't longer than 90 minutes and you get no food or drinks usually. if you consider this as an art performance for only selected few which takes 7hrs (which is crazy 😂) and you get amazing food and drinks in the form of art, the price is in a way justifiable. I wouldn't do that tho :) but it seems many people would

I had a 30 course $500 meal at Minibar in Washington DC, but the focus was entirely on the food, which combined with the experience made the price worth for me as a once in a lifetime kind of thing. But this place seems pretty over the top, I don’t want a pretentious on the nose message with every course. I just want to eat something delicious and appreciate the neat food science.

@@MrHarbltron people make lamb brains into tacos, not that strange. The purpose of meals like this are just the theater of it. Should people be able to spend $1k on a meal, nope but is it insane not really. Just know the workers are at least paid well for rich people wasting money.
@divineintervention212
@divineintervention212 Жыл бұрын
@Arty, I don't know how well the workers are getting paid. Usually the Chef is paid well. Also if the meal is 7 hours it probably takes the staff 2 hours prep time and 2 hours clean up. That's a 11 hour work day. There's not a ton of people who can afford to pay $1000 for a dinner nor do they have7 hours to waste eating. The few who can still takes a massive amount of food being there's so many courses to prepare meaning they still probably need a large staff. I don't know how far a $1000 goes in those situations. Tips are probably decent if your job is one that relays on tips, but certain other jobs usually don't make tips. Like the dish washers. All in all I do find the whole experience to be a tad ostentatious.
@artypyrec4186
@artypyrec4186 Жыл бұрын
@@divineintervention212 $1,000 for a team and chef to feed one person, wouldn't make sense. $1,000 for each costumer, usually around 12 to 20, which depending is 7 cooks, and usually a pivot who handled the dishes and other services. So a room of 12 to 20 people paying 1k to 8 people to cook food that expenses aren't even close to $1,000 per plate. Also the $1000 each goes to the host, the staff has already been paid by the host, so their wage is decided by the head chef. The labor been paid, the host might lose money.
@divineintervention212
@divineintervention212 Жыл бұрын
@Arty, I think you're missing my point. Of course they could pay fairly, but they usually don't. I've worked in a few high end restaurants doing low end jobs and the money is crap. The head chef and the establishment owners make the majority of the money. Waiters and waitress do pretty good ,but its not because of the restaurant paying them well it's because of tips. Dish washers, the food prep team, the greeter and several other jobs really aren't good jobs, even in high end restaurants. Plus the waiters and waitress would probably make more from different customers in a 7 hour period, than from 1 person in 7 hours. I'd imagine the average person would tip $200 for this service and price. They could easily get $100 in tips hourly in most high end restaurants. That's $700. I'd seriously doubt anyone is paying that much of a tip on a $1000 meal. Some may not even give $200. I could be wrong about this place, but in my experience places like this don't pay the staff very well.

Have been here, honestly its the best restaurant I've ever been to. The "experience" is designed to be a little confronting but 90% of the food itself is straightforwardly delicious. Maybe 10% is veering too experimental, but at roughly 7 hours its not really an issue and part of the fun.

This was such an entertaining and informative video. Hasanabi's reactions to the 50-course, 7-hour long, $1000 meal at Alchemist were priceless, and his commentary provided some fascinating insights into the world of fine dining. It's amazing to see the creativity and ingenuity that goes into each dish at Alchemist, and the attention to detail is truly impressive. However, as Hasanabi pointed out, the exorbitant price tag and the extreme length of the meal make it inaccessible to most people. It's also interesting to see how the concept of "food as art" has evolved over time, and how restaurants like Alchemist are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in culinary art. The blend of science, technology, and traditional cooking techniques is truly innovative, and it's inspiring to see how chefs are using their craft to create unforgettable experiences for their guests.

I think that Hasan misses the point, or at least he is not able to recognize that this is not bad, it is just not for him. I think that this is not a meal, this is an experience. The $1000 does not pay for the food itself, but for the work on making the ambience, etc. I do not think that that is the best food you will ever eat, but it is probably an experience that you will remember forever. This is the opposite of eating waygu: Instead of the focus being on the quality of the material, here, they serve you the tail of the crab which is always discarded, but it is done very well and it fits with the narrative that you are experiencing. And honestly, $1000 is not too much for a world class experience. Decent seats in a world class will cost you something like that, and it is also an experience for many hours. Heck even Taylor Swift tickets behind a pillar 200 m away from the scenario cost $1000 for some hours of music that you could listen at home. But you are not there for the music itself, which again you can listen at will at home, you are there for the experience. It is only expensive if you think of the raw materials used to make the food, without factoring the rest of the experience. In the same way that a concert ticket is expensive if you compare it with the price of a song in iTunes. For a man who is interested in Haute couture, he should understand that there is only so much that the quality of raw materials can go, and the value of a good piece (the original Balenciaga ones, not the new ones) is in the narrative and the craftsmanship, not the fact that it is the most comfortable piece you will ever wear.

food is about the experience, the smell the memory of the things that you eat. "comer para el sustento es ignorar el dolor de los presentes pasados" to eat for sustenance is to ignore the pain of the presents past. none should eat food because they are hungry but because they want to live.

It seems like Hasan is reacting to a video showcasing a 50-course meal at the Alchemist restaurant that costs $1000 and takes 7 hours to eat. The video shows the elaborate dishes and the reactions of diners as they work their way through the extensive menu. Hasan seems to find the whole thing bizarre and excessive, poking fun at the idea of needing a full-time job just to eat a meal. He also mentions his own editing work in the video and promotes his second channel for higher quality edits. Overall, it seems like a lighthearted reaction video to an extravagant dining experience.

Alchemist is the Rick and morty of food. All the stans think they’re high iq and superior for liking it, but it’s just pretentious and overdone.

When you live by american cultur i can see why ppl call it corny. In denmark we trust in ppl and have fewer negative thoughs about others. And trust me when i say none is getting rich from this it is not about makeing money it is a passion projekt. Not all places are like USA where you have to be rich to be happy. Even hasans brain has tanken permanent USA cultur damage.
