Amazing work as usual. Up next, how about a crashed star destroyer? If there's one thing these new Star Wars movies are nailing it's beautiful, iconic imagery, and I think Rey speeding by the crashed star destroyer is one of the best.

Man, I really love how you go the extra mile! Way too many people think that weathering should just be a simple blaskwash with a single color when it's several passes with varying colors that really pull realistic result together. Your diorama definitely shows that it's more than worth it.

Hey Chris, goodjob! If you use sand its allways best to go over it with a solution of woodglue and water, just spray it on with an old cleaning spray bottle, it sets transparent and really fixes in the sand. Your piece looks awesome!

Drywall mud( premixed) in a bucket and paper toweling can be used instead of that expencive stuff you are using. I thin the stuff down, with water till it is partly soupy. Dip the towels in the mix and drape over the foam. After it is dry,you can sculpt the material using raw plaster/ drywall compound by adding it and using plastic trowels. I would then paint the whole thing using yellows and browns. Afterwards, using a dishsoap mixed with thinned elmers glue, spray or brush the painted surface, then sprinkle sand over that using a screened strainer. Use whatever color sand you want. add more soap, water glue mix,let dry. dump any sand off that didnt glue down afterwards. You can skip the sand and stuff, painting the plaster white, then use a sparkle fake snow mix to top if doing a winter scene.

Impressive though personally, I would have used a finer gauge of wire. It felt a bit too thick but that's more of personal preference I guess. Learned a thing or two about sand gradations on a diorama though. Thanks.

@Spark Rattle 100% agree,it was the only fault in the whole thing,it kind of looks exactly what it is,some neg/pos wire cut up and glued in,i think Chris will see it for himself
