Thanks for stopping by! An a special thanks for putting up with my elementary school level of video work….I’m getting my sea legs on this.
Today we open up, get a quick look at, and begin work on the Hasegawa 1/48 A6M5c Zero.
This will be painted using Tamiya colors primarily, and as you know they have a pu-ritty limited line of colors so we will need to mix our own for accuracy. So here are some colors to mix and you can use whichever you like best. Its easy enough to mix, just use the colors listed and the amount of drops. Multiply as needed to make larger amounts.
IJN Dark Green
XF11 3
XF17 3
XF2 2
IJN Green
XF11 6
XF5 3
Nakajima Green
XF13 4
XF27 1
Japanese Cowling Black
XF8 3
XF17 2
X18 8 ***note it is X18 Semigloss black, not an XF color

I haven’t seen metallic finish like that. Stunning ! I see a big magnifying glass. Can I ask what brand and model it is?

Earlier this year I picked up my first hassle kit the Japanese zero I believe it's the later version one of the later versions I think they are by far better zero kits than tamiyas

Tamiya puts out a better kit in #103 than their ancient #27, mainly because they have the option of open areas for aftermarket resin. And their new Zero is awesome. But like you said the older ones are beaten flat out by Hasegawa.
