I started boxing 3 MONTHS ago no amateur background either i grew up playing football so I definitely ain’t the sharpest I’m just working my hands as if we on the street I got matched up to spar undefeated Heavyweight Hasim Rahman Jr I honestly had no clue who I was sparring until after we worked it was dope fighting in front of former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman Sr although things got heated towards the end it was honestly good work I can’t wait to see how I look if I continue training but I’m honestly just doing this shit for cardio and rec I been training 3 months only a month with a real coach so I’m basically a random dude off the street vs a pro undefeated heavyweight

Some people just have more natural talent, I box for 14 years. But sometimes dudes tend to come by who can just let their hands go without hesitation... and then it turns out they barely boxed a day in their lives I think the same can be said for this man, he just has it

Yeah, I'm no expert, but I do actually train, and I'm not entirely impressed here. Not sure if Rahman was going easy there after a bit, or whether these are his real skills. Saw some very odd shots, like the cross at 2:53, which misses and wasn't even thrown with legs/core, it was kind of a shot that a new guy does when he hasn't quite figured how to punch yet. Some of his jabs a bit slow as well, seems to push with the jab a little bit like the second one at 1:10. Jab thrown at 2:03 as well was like an arm jab, no real body movement behind it.
@TheRealCocoColours
@TheRealCocoColours Жыл бұрын
@@kent4239 those jabs are thrown to keep an opponent setting up an attack at distance/to break his setup. its commonly used because its quick without too much commitment to be able to react on the possibility of the opponent going in. you will learn this in training at some point as well!

really want to see Jake fight someone who has the skills and knowledge, this guy seems to have experience but his speed, endurance, and even strength are making me understand why Jake picked him so quickly without thinking it over... The kid can be a major jackass and troll but he works his ass off has the funds to hire full-time trainers dietitians etc and is lucky to be born with natural power. The way Tyrone got tired, if this guy gets tired and shows this same defense he's gonna get slept. Hope not honestly, but this isn't looking to great Jake has pretty fast hands and can crack going backwards and forwards. If you press him I think he could fold, consistently with a powerful jab, but endurance has to be there to keep a strong pace as you all know for an extended amount of time

The beautiful part about Hasim being bigger is he doesnt have to get inside. He can just throw half power shots all night long and won't have to worry about gassing out. Hes stronger than Jake and hits harder. I feel like Hasim will just jab him to death and fight smart. He doesnt need to do anything special to win this fight. Jake is going to fade with jabs and body shots.

I feel like going down in weight will be better for rahman. He is a heavyweight but he weighs very light for a heavyweight. I think he will be a lot quicker and be better conditioned if he loses the 20-25 pounds to fight jake. From what ive seen he is basically a below average boxer. A little better than your average amateur. Its a risky fight for jake only because he is fighting someone with actual experience albeit against amateur and low teir competition but at least its vs someone who trains and fights. His past opponents never boxed before or trained boxing prior to their fight with jake. The biggest flaw with rahman is he fights with his hands down and gets caught a lot. Its okay to fight with your hands down if you are quick enough and know how to use distance. But rahman doesnt have either of those things so it doesnt make sense to fight that way.
@ViicSee
@ViicSee Жыл бұрын
yeah I think the hydration clause could bite Jake in the ass lmao, Hasim has been out of shape and trained half ass in all of his fights so finally dropping the weight will likely bring him down to a more natural weight for him and hopefully improve his cardio and hand speed. But if he doesn't lose the weight in fat and just drops a bunch of water weight I can see jr getting knocked out. he leaves himself wide open, he's probably one of the slowest boxers I've seen in my life and his gas tank is horrendous - having all 3 of those traits together is just begging to be knocked out

Rahman needs better lateral movement, keep his hands up, sit down on his punches, and yes JP brought me here. He may even need a better trainer b/c Rahman isn't the best trainer but was a good fighter ..the 2 don't necessarily always translate. this amateur guy gave Rahman Jr good work for sure.

The ENTIRE point of sparring like this before a fight is to 1) simulate the fight you're training for 2)to mentally and physically imitate your self in the actual fight. If this is the level that they have this guy training at then when he steps into the ring with Jake... It's gonna be COMPLETELY different. It he can't work this guy and he's this tired he doesn't have a fucking chance. Which sucks cause I really wanna see Jake get knocked out. Also.... The trainer talking that's training him... Is Also garbage at his job. Jesus Christ... Doesn't even call 'break' when they tie up.... At the end he had him pinned up in the corner... It's not mma.... He should of called break .. but instead he fucking says "pause the clock" and is telling him he needs to get out of him being tied up like that. Dude was even telling him "yo he's holding me call break... Get the ruck off me bro" and this wack ass coach doesn't do shit. It's like they grabbed someone's uncle who "knows about boxing" but he's really full of shit and he's basically just faking it til he "makes it to the fight to see the person he doesn't know how to properly train gets handled. They should of gotten him a sparring partner that's exactly as fit as Jake and made him really work like it's really gonna happen. Jake isn't even CLOSE to being as out of shape as that Guy (sparring partner) l... So again... It he's having problems fighting this dude.... August 6th is gonna be another "Jake Paul win" but really he just got ANOTHER "boxer" that isn't any fucking good. This whole thing is pathetic.

Good analysis, I was thinking the same thing re the coach. Poor guidance but also Hasim doesn't listen well and freestyles. You watch one of Jake's fights and he listens very well to corner commands. Hasim has some good tools tho, he has a nice jab but overall his footwork and defense is bad

It's a sparring session tho... they're SUPPOSE to be working on giving him looks and he spent half of that last round leaning on him. I get it tho, he was tired as shit and didn't have the gas to move around much. But refs break that shit up in real fights for a reason. It's part of boxing, but at the same time, that ain't helping either one of them get better.
