Using scions or shoots for seedlings or making seedlings using grafting techniques, including shoot grafting, insert grafting and grafting from trees that have never produced fruit or parent trees that have never produced fruit, is something that is permissible to do. This will not affect the plants or seeds resulting from grafting scion trees that have never produced fruit. Be it mango trees, avocado trees, guava trees, durian trees or other fruit trees, it is permissible to take shoots from trees that have never produced fruit. Taking scions from trees that have already borne fruit is done only to determine the quality of the fruit and the validity of the fruit to be grafted. By knowing which broodstock already has fruit, you will get seeds according to the expected broodstock. Because the seeds are made using a vegetative method, the characteristics of the plants will be the same as the parent plants. There is no effect on fruiting, even though the scion is taken from a parent tree that has never produced fruit. Whether or not a plant bears fruit quickly is not determined by the scion it is connected to. The ability of plants to bear fruit quickly as expected is absolutely due to our treatment and care for the plant itself, not from the shoots that are connected to it. With proper care and fertilization, the plant will quickly bear fruit.
