Very nice machine. I have the impression that the compression stroke is not being fully used, this does not give heating problem since it must pump more often to play the volume of air needed to complete the tank rifle PCP?

I mean when you start to pump and try and build up to where the last ended it leaks at about 25 bar. Also just how correct is the guage on this pump?

Nice! How about sourcing a dual drive/double shaft motor to handle a 2nd pump!?! (Would be ideal for those with more guns or spare tanks!) Also... for those of you posting that the price of the motor makes this cost prohibitive... there are ways to source motors without paying retail! PLUS a simple Craigslist Ad (mentioning you fill paintball tanks!) would offset the cost & eventually turn a profit!

Good day , how do you solve the problem of condensation as air dry
@TribunusLaticlavus
@TribunusLaticlavus 8 жыл бұрын
+василий долдин I'm guessing the usual way, indoor air which in most houses tends to be less humid than outdoor. In addition to that pausing and bleeding every now and then depending on what is appropriate for his environment and the moisture trap of the pump. It won't get rid of all the condensation but considering that's the method used when pumping normally it's as good as you can use it with that setup, I am slightly concerned though with one thing using this method and that's heat. When pumping manually you can easily overheat the seals within a few minutes, it may seem like a great solution and yes you don't have to pump it yourself but the pump will still get the same heat buildup. Because of that unless you already have the pump and happen to know someone who can build such a thing or you can do it yourself it's probably not financially viable. You're likely better off looking for a commercially mass produced air compressor either the cheaper entry level ones for air rifles that started to pop up or if you want to go with expensive something like a Bauer (the ones a lot of diving and paintball places are likely to use if they go through a lot of air). Going with a commercial one, especially a brand that produces compressors certified for diving air with a qualified operator offers a lot more comfort to me. For airgun purposes I'd be content enough with having a good compressor and not worry too much about how breathable the air is considering it'll be used to push pellets out of a barrel. To legally produce breathing air in a lot of places you have to be certified, regularly get the compressor serviced and on a regular interval sample the air it produces this all makes sense when it's used for diving. But mainly what you'd get out of it for air rifle use is a compressor that is rated for the continuous use that happens when filling bottles/large tanks. You won't be forced to take breaks like you would be with this setup (or risk wearing out the pump seals early).

The air dryer is built into the handle.
@TribunusLaticlavus
@TribunusLaticlavus 8 жыл бұрын
Electronicdawg There's some moisture absorbing stuff in there yes, but even when you're optimistic about its potential to remove moisture from air at ambient pressure after compressing it to the 200 bar that it reaches in your pump assembly and line to the rifle you will get some condensation. In the past I've used a Hatsan pump, but currently a Hill pump is my regular way to refill the rifle. The hatsan would produce enough moisture that I'd usually bleed it halfway to expel the moisture, the Hill pump does a little bit better with its absorption contraption but even after removal of moisture at ambient pressure some will be left to condense into liquid water.
@electronicdawg
@electronicdawg 8 жыл бұрын
Any moisture left in the pump will be expelled when you open the bleeder valve, open the valve as quickly as possible to expel the moisture. Any moisture in the gun will be expelled when you shoot it first few shots.
@TribunusLaticlavus
@TribunusLaticlavus 8 жыл бұрын
Electronicdawg When using it to fill a rifle, yes I'll agree that bleeding it after you're done filling up a single airgun is good enough in most climates. But if it's really humid you'll risk putting more moisture in than the moisture trap can handle properly. When it does end up in the cylinder of the gun I do wonder if it'll be out with the first few shots. But I guess overall this setup is pretty good, filling diving bottles or guns with a bigger reservoir should probably include some resting periods to let the pump cool (seals will easily cook running it at this speed for extended periods). Filling an entire rifle up without pausing will probably wear it out a bit faster than when taking the recommended breaks (heating up the internal seals) but the speed of the pump strokes is not too crazy like some other contraptions I've seen out there. Might need more frequent maintenance (mostly replacing a few oring seals) with some luck.

if charge my gun to about 190 bar with this pump, then take the hose out, then try and complete the charge to say 200 bar, at a later time, it gets to about 25 bar, and starts to leak air from where it goes into the gun! whats that all about. ? and this all new stuff.

@makstex
@makstex 10 жыл бұрын
