Filming location: Haugh Lane, Stella (NE21 4SD)
A noisy automatic half barrier crossing located near Blaydon on the Tyne Valley Line, found next to the Addison Industrial Estate on quite a busy, industrial-feeling road. The barriers are believed to be of the last generation of those manufactured by Godwin Warren Engineering (GWE), so date back quite a while, and slightly unusually the alarms here are on the exit sides of the crossing where there are no barriers. One has quite a squeaky, attention-grabbing tone which is a big plus for audible alarms. Amidst the flutters of dandelion seeds and rare pleasant sunshine, two Northern services can be seen heading by, both before and after serving Blaydon Station respectively, each on runs between Hexham and Nunthorpe in these videos.
