My now deceased sweetie was a Over Road trucker for over 30yrs.. retired and just died this yr..these songs help me grieve his loss....but soon will have a grandson-i-l as part of family and LOVES the OLD MACK TRUCKS like my dear Jimmy did. GOD IS SWEET!!

Sorry for your loss. My grandpa passed in 94 and dad in 08. I miss them both every day, but, it's their "fault" that I'm an owner operator lol! My beautiful wife of nearly 30 years had t-shirts made for our twin grandsons when they got sick a while back. She took a pic of my Classic to a local shop and had it transferred to shirts with the caption "I got Freightliner fever!" The boys just LOVE paw paws truck! They always say make it growl paw paw!

Awesome song. That's how my dad rolled. 32 hours from Ontario, California to Fort Wayne, Indiana. I'd like to see someone do that trip faster then he did. Those days are long gone.

Jim Brown I know some guys that still run like that. They just operate older trucks, keep them in tip top shape. A lot of us youngsters that learned from old schoolers want to bring the old way of trucking life back and we’re trying

Wow hats off to your father, it takes me 5 days to go from my home terminal which is New York City to Mostly Southern California and occasionally Eugene Oregon and sumner Washington. I have to run by the eLog

Yeah me too! I've got an N14 red top that I had rebuilt by Pittsburgh Power after about 990k miles in the 06 Classic XL that I spec'd brand new back in 05. It's making 800 hp and well over 2000 ft.lbs. @ 2150 now. I also have a 13 over and 3.58 rears. The whole drivetrain as well as all of the steering and suspension components were gone through. I LOVE my Classic even more than the 2 month "vacation I took

All trucker plz keep going never stop drive for life my dad never came home but one's every 2 months but they do every to help. I love all truck but gust put your hands on the wheel and hit that gas and go. But some people never come home and there truck is there home, but I'll pray for all truckers out there.

I don't know just how many times that I have actually seen scenes like Tony Justice describe's in this song. If you truly love the Man/woman you are Married to, you would understand that they are just trying to make a living the best way that they know how to. Left lane trucking the only way to go I don't know what the other two lanes before I guess do you know that slow I guess that's where they need to be I've always learn from The outlaw way is chicken truck in left lane three digits if you don't have three digits then you're not trucking they call me 747 and I keep on clucking but the thing is when they took my license I couldn't collect no more they sure do like the music they put out today it's all in my blood I never will turn my life around because it's always in my blood I'm an outlaw truck driver and I'm proud of it I'm American backbone of trucking and I always will be there for outlaw truckers don't ever forget me cuz I'm always around I'm hoping soon I can get my CDL back so I can go clock in again don't know how far r we will make it this year but I'm going to try to make it to next 5 years without losing my driver's license again if you know who I am that I used to drive for straw Trucking sure miss Trucking I've been off the road for 8 years still in my blood so don't got no friends anymore most of them are dead most of them are in prison and me I'm sitting at home wishing I was back out Trucking so if you ever know me I'm in Tulsa Oklahoma try to get ahold of me phone number nine one eight 954 87 26 give me a call sure like take a ride get it back in my blood so my blood start pumping again so I can go pass my CDL I learned the old school way and it's still in my blood I can climb in a truck today and still do the things I used to do back back 8 years ago state of Ohio best me and I went to jail stay in jail for a long time that's all I got out I still want to truck I was so maybe out there one of my good neighbors helped me get back on the road

Jessica Mcbride stay away from mega size carriers if possible coming out of school especially if they pay part of your school tuition once they agree to pay your school they have you and will pay your crap pay until it's paid off. My recommendation is to get your school fully paid for so you can where you want and get the experience needed to open more jobs. First year is rough but it all pays off I eat sleep and drink trucking it's not just a job it's a lifestyle and I love it. I'm sure you will too.

check with your local community college. they may offer a truck driving course and will be cheaper. the community college near me is $1700, the driving schools are $3900. here in Alabama the community colleges are the only authorized third party testers so the instructors teaching you are the same that will give you your test. as has been said the mega carriers will be the most likely to hire without experience but you may find some smaller companies willing to give you a chance. the companies that stay local may give you an opportunity quicker than an OTR or regional outfit.

learn diesel mechanics, and learn to drive a manual. both of those make the job easier
