Watching that video brought back lots of memories of us back in the 90s hauling coal out of West Virginia in w900 Kenworth with a 38 ft frameless dump trailer air ride we went up mountains that you wouldn't hardly take a four-wheel drive truck up curves that you had to back up in but we loved it and done it every day chain up at the bottom in the snow and ice and go up it and have a dozer tied to you to come back off

Has the pleasure of driving a cab over like that, scariest 140 mile round trip ever! It was a local farmer's truck, ran and shifted like a dream, steering not so much. The farmer came and took it away saying it was not safe(a wee bit late!) Definitely an experience that put some hair on my chest. Good times!

Volvo offered the European style FH XXL to the US market and they refused it due to not believing it would sell haha. Have a look online, the cab space is huge for a cab over and here in the UK we have 750/770hp trucks from factory everywhere offered by Scania and Volvo that will return 11mpg all day.

Only two pieces of advice. First of all when I did heavy haul I always turned around while I was empty. It’s easier on the truck trailer in if need be you can see across the trailer to the other side. Second piece of advice I would give you is learn to side load and unload. Jackson and Jimmy almost did it with the ripsaw but you need to be perfectly Street coming off And on the trailer. Then he’s been around what you’re up on top of the deck.
@joeysimpson4020
@joeysimpson4020 2 жыл бұрын
Sideloading might be convenient and save time but it’s not the way you should especially when you got ramps you can go up on, and over time you’re replacing your deck wood more often, and most importantly it puts unwanted strain on the trailer. Might work 99 times but that 100th time you could be up a creek without a paddle
@rayhendricks7379
@rayhendricks7379 2 жыл бұрын
Sideloading on these trailers is not the greatest idea as you tear up the trailer crack welds tear up the deck mess up suspension components etc but highly agree on getting whipped around empty.
