In which JB hauls rocks up a hill to make a dry stone retaining wall. Also some footage of fossils and working in the yard with my family.

There’s nothing like doing some hard work and bettering your home, your self, and your family. You could buy rocks to build the wall, but that wouldn’t be nearly as rewarding, thanks for the video.

"because I don't need a front yard except for the patch by the hammocks" Lol I like the way you think. Gardens are so much more awesome than flat expanses of grass.

Your garden looks awesome! What a fun project! I'm a bit jealous of how much garden space you have.

just terrace the hill first and perfectionize the upper areas next year. just use wood for retaining walls in upper areas this year

And where's our hemp field? PS: Have you tried using the old method of holding a long staff and carying heavy stuff on both sides? Like that rustic image of the asian labourer in rice fields. Might be interesting to determine how flexible wood could be in such a way as to help ease the weight on the shoulders.

I've been curious about that. Maybe with net bags? JB

Basically shock absorbers if the wood is strong and flexible enough I'd think. -JF
