This is how I move the cat 309. Pulling with a 2015 dodge 2500 cummins. Truck has been deleted and tuned. Trailer is a 25k gvrw gooseneck.

Nice set up! I use to run cats at the last construction company I use to work at. Mainly the 320. Now I'm self employed stuck on a mini skid steer haha.

You can put blocks under the trailer or weld some stuff legs to it to drop down , either one of those will keep the trailer from picking your truck up or the ramps trying to fold back up

This vid popped up in my recommended. I subscribed to see what you may have coming up. I realize you’re just getting started with videos, I’ll be keeping an eye on ya. The limiting factor on the 2500 Cummins is payload, about 2k give or take. I’m looking at mini’s, to improve my sisters 20ac that’s way over grown with trees and bushes. She has a 3000 series Kubota so I’m thinking with the mini and a grappler attachment for the tractor I could be pretty productive in cleaning up her property. There’s also a spring fed pond that needs work. Best Regards

Thanks man. I'll have a few videos coming out soon. Been slow with all the rain. A mini ex and a tractor and you can take care of business. That's pretty much how I got to where I am now. One thing led to another

Use your bucket and track out until you're out past the pivot point on the ramps then lower yourself down until the weight of the excavator keeps them from flipping up. Just drive off then. Perhaps it's just me, but I hate backing off with a passion.

I tried that but it still wanting to pick the truck up. But it was dark. And I couldn't see where I was on the trailer lol. I'm a lot more comfortable now loading and uploading the 309 so I could probably do what you're talking about now.

While I realize the sarcasm in the comment I have a 19 f250 and pulled a 36,000lb septic truck and it did pretty good. Nobody thought it could be done! Either way this Cummins is putting in some work!

Yes. They came factory with the truck. It's nice to have when you're pulling equipment all the time

How big are the axles on that trailer? I'm impressed it can haul that 309. What's that trailer rated to haul? I'm curious because I bought a machine that is technically to heavy for my trailer by about 4 or 5 thousand pounds. But I'm thinking it'll get the job done especially since I'm only going 6 or 7 miles.

It has 4 independent axles. When I bought the trailer, the tag on it said it was rated for 25k lbs. Somehow the tag got knocked off or I would show it on video. Keep in mind that the truck is carrying so much of that weight too. I had a trailer dealer in TN tell me that they haul a 30k pound tellehandler on a 25k pound trailer. I was looking at getting a bigger trailer but since they told me that, I decided to try it myself.

Any reason you don’t just get a tag and move the 309 with the dump?

I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep it a dump bed or put a 5th wheel back on it. But either way I'm gonna start using it to pull the 309.

How long is your trailer? Any must have attachments for the 309?

23 foot trailer. 18' deck with 5' dovetail. If you can find a tilt bucket for the 309 I think that would be awesome. I'm really wanting to put a mulcher on it and see what it can do. Just haven't yet
