Hauptwerk (on a budget) PC Upgrade - I should have done this years ago!

The original budget PC I built for my affordable Hauptwerk setup in 2013 finally gave up, so it was high time for an upgrade. Amazingly, I still only spent about $800 to bring this build into the present day. Come along as I upgrade the PC, and give the new setup a test run.

Congrats on your upgrade. I use Grand orgue on an old business laptop; really ought to do something like this.

Now if only that soundtrack would play every time I build a computer at the office. :-D Also it would probably help to bring some cigars and Scotch.... Congratulations, and may the machine make glorious music for many years!

You should move the RAM sticks to slot 2 and 4 (A2 and B2) for dual channel speeds :)

Great new setup, and no duct tape was harmed in the building of the new PC! 😅 What version of windows did you decide to run? Are you annoyed yet at the little on line license check Hauptwerk has to run when loading? 😊 I think the raw video audio sounds great. Now all you need is a 20'' powered subwoofer for those 16' & 32' stops. My 32' stops really came alive when I added a 15'' sub and a low. Frequency isolation amp to drive it. 🎉

Thanks! Win10 Pro. Not interested in Win11, and will hold out as long as possible. Yes, the license check is very annoying. I really would prefer to run offline. I suppose after the check I can unplug the NIC, and just plug it back in if I have to reboot or close HW. Believe it or not, those big tower speakers have massive 15" drivers in the rear that do a pretty darned good job with the 32' stops, at least down to around F right now. My bigger limitation is the room size & proportions that won't allow, for example, a 15hz wave to even form. When I had those same speakers in a good sized church, I got pretty pure 32' tone down to the low D. C never quite formed. But D did. Someday when I have the space, I'll definitely add a proper powered sub.
