Also, part of the reason why Mr Bean hardly ever talks is because Rowan Atkinson has a stutter. He's gotten better at controlling it over time, from what I've read, but it's a brilliant role as he could hide it due to the lack of talking

@rudrodeepchatterjee I think I've seen just as much, perhaps more of Chaplin than Atkinson. Chaplin made us laugh without saying anything bc it was a technological disadvantage obviously - not to take anything away from just how brilliant he was. But I'd say it's harder to do that in an era of talkshows, fast entertainment, action movies, podcasts and what not. Rowan did what Charlie did even when the technology was there and he succeeded. It could have easily been overlooked or looked out of place.

To be fair, Rowan Atkinson has made a LOT of dirty jokes in his career. Or at least, plenty of dirty innuendoes!! But he has also made a lot of humor without dirty jokes, as well. A very versatile comedian.
