I know tour players use the irons but they are not know for tour models in the same way other brands are known for their blades and CBs. i230s are still very much a club golfer iron which I would compare to like a P770 which I wouldn’t consider a tour specific club. I guess I should have made that abit more obvious 😅

@@hannahholdenNCG I do think your argument is a bit muddled - I completely accept that Ping has not been known for making blades/MB irons (for the simple reason that for roughly first 40 years Ping did not make a true blade) but, at least according to Titleist, only 30% of tour players play those, the other 70% play cavity back irons, the style of iron which Ping is known for creating, it is that style of iron which is at the heart of Ping's iron history, a fact that most knowledgeable golfers would know . I do agree with you that the i230 is an odd one. I think Bryson currently plays them but you are correct it is not known as a tour iron whereas the i210s which it replaced were well known as tour clubs that ordinary golfers could use. It would be the i59 which was the Ping cavity back tour iron before the Blueprint S. Anyway back to the video - great and honest summary from Hannah, you really helped clarify for me that the S is an i210 replacement in the sense that it is a tour players iron that ordinary golfers can use

I think it would vary on the person. If you are trying to gain distance possibly not but otherwise I think it would work! I would always just recommend people testing them and seeing how they get on.

Great review Hannah. Would be great to see you get a fitting for them. I play i230 and they have been really consistent delivering a great flight, some workability and distance is strong.

I have the i210s, looks good at address, not too much offset, loads of bounce, but I'm not sure if I generate enough clubhead speed to get the most from them tbh.

I like the i210s because I believe they are the last Ping irons without the screw in the toe. That screw throws off the looks to me. Makes me think game improvement iron, and not players iron.

Smaller than i210s, feel better but a tad less forgiving

I also had some Eye 2's, but I definitely hit these better!

Because having lots of material in the hosel pulls the centre of gravity higher. By cutting it out, they can put more weight lower in the head and optimise launch and spin better.

It does make all Ping irons look pig ugly.

I know they have tour irons and players but I don't think it is what the general public know them for. They are publically percieved as more of a game improvement brand.

@@cwugrad396 I game the same irons old blueprint, you need a quicker swing speed. It’s no good. Put the ego in the bin and game a more of a distance iron. They’ll be no difference in yardage with a 4 5 & 6 iron for her.

Because I value accuracy over distance and the smaller soles give me way more workability and control of a variety of lies. My swing speed is usually low to mid 80s in summer. It was very cold in this video 😅

They are for swing weighting so they can get the feel of the club dialled in
