I called it kudu (Sarawak Malay language). It also known as mengkudu (Malaysian). I never eat the fruit but i eat the leaf. I prefer to boil the leaf for a moment and eat it with "shrimp paste + anchovies + chilies/"sambal belacan". We called it "ulam". I also cooked and eat mengkudu leaf with coconut milk (masak lemak). It depend on your taste. Greeting, from Malaysia...😊

A similar tree was growing in my grandma’s front yard in the Philippines. There were so much fruits but we were never allowed to eat them, so I asked her and she said the tree was called “titi ng kabayo”. It translates to horse’s male private part. I thought it was weird but I accepted it and called it as such until my adulthood and they were advertising it on tv in Canada as a healthy fruit juice called noni. Funny, how elders lie to kids. But then maybe she didn’t know either. 😂🤔

Wow, I'm cambodia too but grew up in the USA. I never seen anyone like her- so brave eating raw noni freshly picked from the tree. Yes I like the way she make those favorable dry fish jerkey paste to eat with noni . it help to remove the nasty noni flavor. It Looks yummy the way she eat that. In the USA, they blend noni juice with grapefruit and sold it for top dollars. It is call zxango.

I suggest people do some research on this fruit before consuming or eating it, it has health properties I believe but eating too much of it might not be good. Some people here leave a few mature ones in a glass jar with a little water or no water for a few days and it gets mature than they drink a little of the juice for health and medicinal purposes.

This is Noni. The plant is very precious. I tried to buy some seeds from Florida and I paid $60 for 10 seeds. I tried growing then in California and without any luck, the seeds I got was never germinated. I need the leaves to make Amok with Salmon fish. I will have to visit Cambodia next Spring to find some ripe Noni and take the dry seeds back to California. My mom loves Amok with Noni leaves. An Authentic Khmer recipe without any substitute. Polin, can you make a video with Amok Noni leaves recipe. I wish you good health and happiness. Keep up the with all your amazing videos.

Mengkudu in Vietnam, people call it with name "Trái nhàu". It's so smell, hard to eat. But when you love it, you can eat more. I have never tried eating it raw.

Si polin ni geragas ya apa aja dimakan, itu mengkudu maen makan aja 😅 you know what polin, in Indonesia the tree of that fruit grows everywhere but mostly we dont eat the fruit 😅 but we use the leaf to make fried rice. U eat the fruit, how does it taste polin? Doesn't it smell bad? 😅 btw, apa yg dia masak kok keliatannya gak enak yak, lidah org beda2 sik 😅 masak ikan/daging pasti dicacak2 bgitu. Kadang abstrak jg cara masaknya. Ikan hasil fermentasi, dicampur lg sama ikan yg dipanggang 😅
